What happens if he can't appoint any actual security advisors and can't run an actual White House and has no idea what to do and there's a terrorist attack on his watch? Sympathy and high approval ratings like Bush or pure chaos and asking for impeachment?

 

Not really, at least in my interactions with him. But here's my point - one psychopath is bad enough, two is worse.

im just saying an impeachment of trump scares me to death because pence is worse. whether you think he's easy to beat or not he'll still have control of the senate, house, and supreme court. he'll be just as dangerous as trump with even more fucked up ideals. there's no comfort in that.

 

Yeah, disgusting. At least Prop 57 is going to pass, but all of this just highlights my issue with the current framing of mass incarceration with its focus on dividing non-violent and violent offenders.

I think that's my biggest expectation of this White House -- it'll be run like a shit show he'll outsource everything and have no idea how to make decisions or what even needs to be done. Like he's an idiot and zero experience. That can't be a good combo.

We will be lucky if he outsources everything. Only way we might live through it. I think he won't at first, will fuck up something huge and then realize (or be forced) into getting help.

I think there will be sympathy from some of his base always. The "non politician" can't be expected to know this stuff. The kicker is going to be when he fucks something up that has an immediate impact on his base. Then people will see what they signed up for.

It's still splitting non-violent and violent, but nonetheless, I'm interested to see what kind of effect cannabis legalization will have on incarcerations for drug crimes.

Who has the balls to stand up to Trump if he just says 'fuck it, I'm president indefinitely'? The right rolled over for a year. The left are rolling over now. He won't deliver any promises, he'plans scapegoat his enemies, and we'll have more violence (and people afraid who want a messiah) as a result. The motherfucker is a fascist; why should he respect our democratic process in 2020 when he doesn't respect anything or anyone else?
