I think the invasion of the Kursk region, plus the constant drone attacks into Russia over the last year, shows that Putin doesn’t really give a shit, or care enough to make a big deal about it

Is there any escalation of this war you wouldn't support? Or are you hoping we get to WW3 eventually?

Yeah Ukraine should just roll over and surrender already. Don't they know they are escalating by fighting for their country's survival by any means necessary? They should really all hold hands and skip gleefully into Moscow just to show how much they want to avoid escalation. Just get steamrolled Ukraine. Be the sacrificial victim that allows us to avoid further escalation from a country that will definitely stop with you! Oh please get off your privileged high horse.

a country being invaded defending itself is not escalation

Ukraine using storm shadow missiles against Russia doesn't make me uncomfortable at all

(it won't let me quote the previous post - when I typed my post & when I try to edit it I am quoting Wharf but it's not showing up)

I don't want things escalate to World War 3 either but then again I'm not the one who decided to invade the Ukraine. Also Putin put his nuclear forces on alert very early on in this conflict but oh no it's the Ukraine who's doing all of the escalating. Please

  15. “They started it,” to me, is not a good reason to escalate a conflict involving nuclear powers. Putin has certainly also escalated the conflict several times, I’m not sure where you got the idea anyone would disagree with that. I don’t cheer when that happens either.

  16. so do you think it is impossible for Ukraine (or its suppliers) to escalate this conflict at all ever?

I do not think that using missiles supplied by the UK, the US, or France (or any other country for that matter) to strike at targets that are currently striking Ukraine is escalation if those targets happen to be in Russia

“The war has ground on — with devastating results for the people of Ukraine. Ukraine is not in a position to win the war, nor does it have a stronger bargaining position in talks than it did in late 2022…

A New York Times report in August cited U.S. officials estimating the Ukrainian death toll at close to 70,000, with 100,000 to 120,000 wounded. Ukraine has lost a fifth of its population to migration, and many able-bodied men have been killed, severely injured, or are currently fighting and out of the workforce.”

  22. Please define escalation because to me new and better weapons being used in new ways against new targets that are more valuable than previous ones is the definition of escalation. I don’t know why you do this, just say you don’t care whether it’s escalation, whatever. Why try to redefine a word

I really love the argument that Russia is simultaneously running out of munitions, destroying their economy, and losing tons of manpower to Ukraine, which only need a super weapon or two to win, BUT if they are not stopped or if Ukraine seeks peace they will somehow take over Europe.

because your framing of a country defending itself from an aggressor that is invading them as escalation is stupid. but I know exactly why you do it.
