This is a damn fine cup of coffee.

In general, the nicest guys are the most terrifying when they're mad. Dave going off on that guy for fighting at his show is a perfect example.

Used to be a big Foos fan but they kinda lost me with the last few albums but happened to be in Denver last weekend when they were playing. Picked up some cheap tickets and brought me back why I liked them. Killer show. The new album stuff sounded good live... but at the same time it all sounds the same?

and I know I'm late to this discussion but didn't realize Sonic Highways was so disliked. I dig it. What am I missing that everyone hates? I do wish the city/guests influencers and style shined through more. Am I remembering correctly most of the songs were prewritten then assigned to a city? Which is a bummer. Still dig the tunes, but think it could've been a big winner if each song was more influence driven just another Foos song. If anyone is a Zac Brown Band fan I wish Sonic Highways was like Jekyll and Hyde where every song has such a different musical direction.

Sonic Highways is just one of the most underwhelming albums I've ever heard. it has moments but the potential to be so much better than it was is unbelievably frustrating. if you combined it with the Sound City album, you'd probably get one great record instead of two okay ones

I like Sonic Highways and if I have it low on a ranking, that's just a matter of things having to be on the bottom by default rather than a judgment of the product.

Also Sonic Highways was the follow up to Wasting Light which is regarded as a top tier Foo album by most…so contrast effect also plays in to the dislike

I hope his wife and kids are doing okay through all this, it must be horrible to go through something like this.

My father gave us plenty of reason to suspect infidelity towards my mom right after their divorce, and just that lingering question crushed us. I can't imagine how devastating these circumstances are for his wife and kids. So selfish.

I mean, his career will likely not suffer from this. He owned up to it and acknowledged he’s making an effort to fix things.

His image is definitely tarnished though.

  22. This is incredibly disappointing. I know that everyone makes mistakes and all, but I really looked up to Dave as he always seemed to be a really respectable guy from what I knew.

Not entirely surprising given how his first marriage supposedly ended but still sad nonetheless. Anyways, it’s a private matter so hopefully the family is able to work through it.
