This scares me a bit. I'm currently covered 80% by medicare because of my kidney failure. (The other 20% I'm covered by my Dad's insurance because I got a continuance, I'm 30 in June.) There are only two conditions that get you into medicare early. After I get a transplant, my medicines are only covered for 3 years after. Then, its on me. I'm so worried about what great, wonderful healthcare plan this moron is going to roll out. These medicines will cost upwards of $3000 a MONTH and I'll be on them forever. The future of health insurance frightens me a bit.

  3. I guess at least the DOW priced stuff in early and looks up. I'm contemplating pulling investments before January. Not sure what to do with retirement.

we ignored it with Bernie too. everything was going to get done, we just needed a revolution. talking policy and how things will actually get done is complicated and boring.

This is the type of thinking that I am trying to avoid right now. Though it is tempting, I refuse to root for failure. There have to be proactive ways to work through, obstruct, challenge, and defy things that we do not agree with over the course of the next four years. It's wrong to think negative behaviors will get us out of this whole that negativity dug.

  6. Yeah. I'm done not listening to my cynical gut and what the data in front of me is saying.

The best is people in IL. I've heard so many people go on and on about how she was going to take away the guns....Nothing much would have changed in IL. We already have FOID cards, we have extensive background checks, we have cool off/waiting periods. The rest of the country would have been playing catch up with us, yes. And all of those things are okay to have.

  10. For it's (many, largely Congressionally forced) issues, the ACA is also the only reason I and many others can't be denied health insurance due to "pre-existing conditions".

based on recent history, whether his policies are successful or not, a segment of the country will inevitably blame R's for their struggles in the next 4-8 yrs and give D's the advantage in the presidential election.

Be kind; everyone is on their own journey.

I wonder how many Trump voters rely on food stamps and Medicaid to feed and care for their children?

edit: but aren't educated enough on Trump's 'policies' to see this coming.

Probably adjust some of the international exposure for the time being (if you didn't earlier in the year), but in general you trust in the 20-year averages since it's your retirement. Don't be the 2008 working class retiree that pulled out of their investments during the crash and sold low. I would think the bigger question would be more liquid investments, but I don't know your setup.
