I'll be going with either the Natural Titanium or Desert Pro Max.

I usually do 2 years on my watches, but I've got the original Ultra and am fine hanging onto that another year. I'm cool with them not tempting me with an Ultra 3.

 

I'm happy I waited until today to decide what do with the Ultra 2 I've been playing with. Now I think I'm going to keep it, especially since I can't get stainless steel anymore. Polished titanium just doesn't do it for me and those are priced at where I got this Ultra 2 with tax.

 

This is the hottest piece of tech on the fucking planet

 

And it's pratically the same as last year.

 

I gotta say the 16 camera bump is the nicest looking one in a long time. nice to see them at least trying to make it minimal.

probably gonna get a 16 pro in black and maybe sell my Ultra 2 so I can get the jet black 10

 

I did not expect to upgrade my watch (series 8) but the ticking second hand while display is dimmed sold me. Drives me nuts when I’m counting out a patients heart rate and the screen goes dim and i lose it. Jet black is an awesome change too

 

16 Pro in black and probably AirPods 4 with ANC for me, but may wait for reviews on the latter

Damn - I am torn between the series 10 and ultra 2

@Drew Beringer - after having the Ultra 2...any immediate thoughts on why you are gonna go with the Series 10 when comparing both?

Initially I was going to go with the Ultra because of the screen size, but with the bigger size on the series 10 - that threw things for a loop.

 

I'll say that the difference in screen size ultimately is so miniscule between the Ultra and S10. It's not like it gets any extra utility from it and I'm sure they're not bringing the Ultra watch faces to the S10.

Really, it all comes down to aesthetics. The size and look of the Ultra still doesn't sit well with me as a person. I like it but I look at my S7 I still have and think "That looks so much better".

Not bad, I think I will upgrade to the 16 Pro Max.

I was hoping for more from the 10th year Watch but I need to upgrade this year due to the battery. Is there no more stainless steel? Not a big fan of slate from the images...

 

For me, it's the battery life. Still not a fan of the overall size of my Ultra 2, but I got used to it, and the battery life is literally double of the standard models. I charing this thing like once every 2-2.5 days, and it actually feels like wearing a normal watch for that reason alone.

 

Yeah, they swapped out Stainless Steel for polished Titanium. I won't have an opinion on it till I see it in person.

 

Maaaan, that just seems like a bad move to me They've given the best colour with the jet black to the worst model!

 

The lack of stainless steel is a big loss for me. I prefer buying a Watch that will last me a number of years, the sapphire crystral and stainless steel allowed for that. I'd prefer an unfinished titanium, too.

Battery life is quite nice with the Ultra. Having to charge every other day or so is a bigger difference than I expected. I just don't love the appearance as much as I do that of the standard Watches.

Jet Black is going to be a scratch magnet just like the iPhone was.

 

Side note about the Ultra 2: I'm really curious how that black titanium is going to hold up over time. As someone who's nicked the blunt edges of it multiple times, it'd suck to have that happen on such an expensive model. If it's black all the way through, that makes it slightly better, but I don't trust myself enough not to ding it.

 

Yep, that's definitely a concern. Wouldn't be surprised if it's like the black aluminum watches where damage exposed the metal.

 

I’m not a fan of the polished titanium on the watch

 

I have randomly got into listening to a podcast of a guy local to me who does tech reviews from the point of view of someone with accessability issues. So to a certain extent i have definetely appreciated more of those features on the announcement than i have done previously. Although, no doubt in 30 years my body will be running off apple silicon and have 2 Apple Ear Pro's.

 

If I was going to go with the natural brush on the ultra 2 - is that available today in store? Online it says 9/20 but I thought the only new thing with the ultra 2 was the color but everything else was the same?

My battery is now almost two years old and I’m wanting to upgrade soon. Should I go 15 pro or 16 pro?
