This is why they put out the story about RFK Jr. eating a dog. If dogs are good enough for a Kennedy, they're good enough for anyone.

Listening to David Sirota's Master Plan, which about the history of how corporate interests effectively legalized institutional corruption in US politics starting in the 1970's. So far this is one of the better political history pods since Blowback, you can tell from the production style it is definitely influenced by Blowback too.

I heard Sirota on Chapo plugging it and it won me over.

The book I started reading but unfortunately ran out of time this summer to keep reading, called "Rebels" about Bernie/Warren/AOC, started out with the entire first chapter being about something similar with the corporate interest takeover of the Dem Party and how Carter campaigned on the "Three martini lunch" thing and then ended up getting rolled by the end of the fight over the corporate tax code.

... and it's totally okay not waning to confront that in entertainment. plenty of topics I groan at hat are equally relevant and timely.

and quite frankly, most covid content in entertainment came from a place of privilege and was totally groan worthy

I mean, she's absolutely using social media far more than Biden did so it seems disingenuous to suggest that she's running the *same* media campaign as him

Yeah the campaign has definitely been more present than Biden's was, but so many of the ads so far seem to focus on Trump more than what Harris wants to do. I ahve seen one or two very generic ones about policy though.

I think for a lot of private insurers it is, but IIRC I don't think Medicare/MEdicaid covers hearing aids? Could def be wrong about that

There could be something re: retirees, or what specifically is covered—think hearing aids, cochlear implants, bone grafts & the like.

What content out there is including COVID? I swear the only show or movie I've seen mention it in any explicit way was Law and ORder SVU when the characters would be wearing masks here and there, I presume mostly because of the regulations on filming shows at the time lol

Irked by the, "lower cost by $800/month" for ACA plans, while here I am with my workplace plan paying $1,700/month to cover my family, with a $6,800 individual deductible plan.

    Woo.

The Morning Show's second season aired in 2021 and was all about the Covid-19 pandemic. Season 3 even had Reese Witherspoon's character trying to hide her brother's involvement in January 6th lol.

never seen COVID portrayed in a piece of media in any way other than complete cringe, I’m sure it’s possible to thoughtfully involve it in a story arc but so far it hasn’t happened

Industry addressed Covid at the beginning of season 2, but didn't dwell on it.

I did love Bo Burnham's Inside. Though I feel like that was more about quarantine/isolation than COVID directly
