It isn't inevitable, like rain or snow, but there are things to be done that can make people see what a failure his policies are. Again, if we're fatalistic here, then what in the fuck is the point? And yes, there's a difference between fatalism and realism.

 

I think Trump will be reelected. I'm currently not even particularly thinking it's going to be close. I lived through 2000/2004. I won't ever walk into an election naive like that again.

 

I've been employed everyday since I was legally aloud to (got my working papers and 1st job on my 15th birthday) I am now 29 and was unemployed for 2 weeks last year... those 2 weeks of unemployment was the only time I could afford health care. I believed Obamacare could be fixed but it sure as hell wasn't working the way it was.

 

I've been in the same boat, had to stop myself from driving to a gas station around the corner and buying beer to drink myself to sleep last night. I know that's nothing compared to what you go through but know that I got your back and I'm proud of you for all that you've accomplished with getting clean. Hang in there, man, you got this.

 

A lottttt of people who work for my organization suddenly left right before yesterday like... kind of strange. I feel like there was something to it, if they moved to a European branch props to them.

Yeah, while I don't agree with her views, I think it stems more from ignorance and how much pain she's suffered over the years, seeing disrespect against the military after losing a family member who was practically her brother, among other things.

I have a lot of family who voted for Trump, unfortunately. It's not so rare in NH. However, it doesn't change my love for them . I do love that my mom, a very devout Catholic, even realized how dangerous Trump is.

 

White people are fickle. also in 2008 they believed bush cost them jobs and was making money off the wars in the middle east.

 

Last night I was ranting and raving to my Mother in Law through text, who didn't vote for Trump, but is on facebook all the time and has some odd views. She mentioned that someone tried to assassinate Trump, as if she was looking for empathy, and I immediately lost it. Was advised by my wife this morning not to use the 'F' word with her again...haha. Worth it.

 

I've seen around 20 Miami University students today wearing Donald Trump hats. Where the fuck do these people come from? I've only seen the occasional hat/Trump apparel before today. I guess it is true that people were being secretive with their political intentions.

 

Maybe since the media largely discredited themselves this year it won't be necessary for Trump & co. to sue them out of existence.

 

I guess you can call me fatalistic if you want. I just think I am being realistic. When Obama had democratic support in his first term, he got policies through. That's typically when more things get done. All I am saying is that Trump has a good platform to repeal Obamacare and shrink certain minority rights if it's a priority. I realize that's a rather simplistic statement, but it's not just Trump we should be worried about. It's all of the seats that went red last night as well that are going to be a problem for people.

 

this isn't my family, but true. basically why I ditched FB for twitter, though I try to diversify my feed a little.

 

Something worth noting: Conservative policies here in the UK in our 2010 election resulted in a deficit growing where it was promised to be completely eradicated. David Cameron, our ex-Prime Minister is seen by academics to be the second worst prime minister we've ever had, due to the harm he's done to the working class and social mobility in general. Yet they won the 2015 election with an increased majority. Failure of policy to achieve its aims means absolutely nothing, in this post-truth world presentation is all that matters. This world fucking sucks.

 

Yes there's President, Senate, House of Representatives, and the Supreme Court. However the Republicans just one all of them which means there is a good chance they will agree with most of his policies.

I was younger (12 and 16 in 2000 and 04) but I agree to that. 2000 was so bizarre, figured Trump would win last night but it doesn't make it any easier to swallow.
