Logical people can think critically. They can see, and at the very least attempt to grasp, the concept that there are two sides to every argument. They understand that there are gray areas. They understand that not every problem we have has a quick fix.

In my experience, Trump supporters are not logical. They are not critical thinkers. To them, everything is all one way or another. For example, if they encounter one African American who is in poverty and unemployed, then by god, all African Americans are like this. That's just how they reason. Now, keep in mind, not all Trump supporters are like that. Some may have decent IQs, but they are simply racist, sexist, homophobic, etc.

Also, in my experience, Trump supporters lack empathy. They either outright refuse any attempt to consider how others may feel or they simply do not possess the mental proficiency to feel any kind of compassion. This is where many Evangelicals are at. Many that I have encountered do not want to help refugees. Instead, they make the lazy argument that there are people here in our own country who are also in need, but they simply can't be bothered to help these people either, so their argument holds little water with me. Yes, I will hear out all logical arguments regarding the refugee crisis, but I've yet to come across any Evangelical logic.

And, again, these are just the people I've dealt with in the Bible belt. It obviously doesn't represent all Trump supporters, but I would wager it covers a pretty large number.

I've been awake since 6:30 am Tuesday and I'm watching this scary looking Rick Scott creature smile and stare a hole through the screen at me while he tries to learn to speak.

No, he wasn't. He had the advantage of being an outsider. Jeb! was probably the perfect candidate for Hillary to run against, as anyone complaining about political dynasties wouldn't have a foot to stand on.

And this is why everyone saying how Bernie would've beaten Trump kinda annoys. We didn't know who the republicans would pick, and I think Hillary does better against someone like Jeb than Bernie does.

Saw this last night in a discord server I'm a part of and it didn't really click with me what this person said until this morning

This person is 15 years old. At 15 years old, we as a country have taught this person that a man on trial for sexual assault, a man who preaches hate, racism, sexism, homophobia, xenophobia and so much more is much better than a woman and her emails.

We have taught people that this kind of vile hatred is okay, simply because Hilary did not win. We have taught people that it's okay to be happy Trump beat Hilary simply for the sake of beating her.

    I'm sick to my stomach

By not thinking like this. Organize. Protest. Volunteer. I thought I did enough by voting against Trump and sharing articles in this thread and on Facebook and engaging in discussion. I was wrong and blinded by my privileges and irresponsible to members of my communities and I feel bad for every door I didn't knock on, every call I didn't make, and every potential voter I didn't talk to and register.

Get out there. Do everything you can starting today.

True. It really was a match up of two vastly flawed candidates to where you would always have each side accepting their own candidates flaws and transgressions because the other(s) were "worse". Such an insane concept that you would imagine to see purely in fiction.

    all we have is time

The fact that our election for many came down to the choice of who "NOT" to elect rather than the choice of "WHO" to elect is such a frightening thing.
