I'm incredibly excited for this iteration of Linkin Park.

How does Zane get these exclusives?

I know he gets them now because he’s with Apple. And he does well with them. I loved the Blink one. Just funny to me that he’s basically the Oprah for scene heads, always the biggest sitdown.

“Yet instead of functioning as a nostalgia play to sell tickets, From Zero pulsates with renewed energy, a dynamic extension of Linkin Park’s multifaceted aesthetic. Some of the songs previewed for Billboard recall the quicksilver rap-rock aggression that made the band diamond-sellers; others iterate on specific eras, like the pulverizing metal of 2014’s The Hunting Party or the atmospheric alt-rock of 2010’s A Thousand Suns. Across the board, they carry a sense of pace and urgency — as if the band members refused to let up or phone in one moment of their grand return.”

Didn't notice right away that Rob Bourdon isn't with the band anymore on drumming duties

  6. He's had a long career, first on MTV then on BBC Radio 1, and must've gained tons of connections through both. I grew up listening to him interview bands, many from the scene, and do exclusive premiere of their singles in the 00s and forward.

There’s no way Linkin Park didn’t know this stuff about Emily, right?

It wasn't very publicized information and we've discussed in the other thread that we wouldn't have known ourselves if someone hadn't grabbed the screenshot, so I think it could go either way, honestly.

He also does these interviews with people like Sabrina Carpenter and Billie Eillish, lol. He's just the guy for big interviews with big acts. Imo, from the ones I've watched, rightfully so.

This new song rules and Emily sounds great. Part of me hates to say it, but I haven't been this pumped for an LP release in over a decade.

Listened to that new song again this morning a few times, and like… I really dig how the band sounds with her, lol.

Hope the full album hits all their major sounds they’ve had over the years. I wanna hear a studio track written and recorded with her that’s heavier, and also one that could be on A Thousand Suns, and also with rap elements, and also something more anthemic, etc. Play all the hits, so to speak, to set the stage for what I hope is a robust second act.

I do wish the the guitars had a bit more punch to them; they felt a bit far back in the mix.

I haven’t really cared for their stuff in over a decade and I really enjoy this track. Weird considering how much I love Chester but maybe those previous albums just hit at weird times in my life

If they've been working with her since 2019, and all the Danny stuff was 2022 or so, they absolutely would/should know as is it/was a big part of her life. At the very least, they have to know sheb is/was a scientologist

They met in 2019, we don't know when they actually started working together, and yes, I absolutely realize I'm desperately clinging to hopium because this makes no fucking sense.

being a Scientologist isn't inherently problematic, like they could have grown up one versus joining later in life, but being an abuse apologist no excuse

I don't really know anything sketch or anything about Mike Shinoda minus him being a crypto/NFT guy

I really like the new song and think it was super smart how it's written. Good intro with Mike, and then a 'surprise' introduction of the new vocals. And it's got that graspy, screamy tone to it. I dig.

  22. Yep the Billboard article said that after their 2019 meetings, they pretty much told her to wait a couple years or something, while they were doing their own things like focusing on the album reissues. It's not like they were in each other's lives every single day.

Feels uncomfortable having someone like her sing Chester’s lyrics about his own personal sexual trauma when he was a child. Which sucks cuz I think she did a good job.

also, shockingly bad music video for them.
