they can actually probably see the crowd better than most bands. Having bright front lights that light up the bands face makes it more difficult to see. With all the light coming from behind them there is nothing shining in their eyes inhibiting their vision.

Hope that makes sense. Im a lighting designer but explaining can be kind of difficult without showing haha.

Serious question: is everyone on the Brand New subreddit 13 years old?

 

What is generally considered to be Brand New's best album? I'd personally say Deja Entendu but they have a few damn good songs on every other album too. I don't think they'll ever outdo "Jesus Christ" for me.

 

A lot will say TDAG but it's very clearly Daisy for me.

 

TD&G is no doubt their most universally loved album

Agreed, Deja is their most universally loved album. TDAG is probably their most critically acclaimed, and to me has stood the test of time better than Deja.

 

I dunno, ever since Deja, "Sowing Season", "Archers", "Jesus Christ", "Millstone"... "Noro"... not much else has grabbed me, in the standalone song sense anyways. I actually kinda liked "Mene" but their latest one sounded like an Interpol ripoff. I haven't totally minded their changes in direction, they just haven't worked for me as well as the vibe on Deja.

 

Sounds like you're into the slightly poppier, more melodic stuff as opposed to the abrasive stuff. How do you feel about Not the Sun?

 

I think Devil and god is a 100 times better record than deja. I think it's the greatest rock record ever written but that's a super biased opinion. Also daisy is my favorite brand new record tho so my opinion is weird.
