Seriously, artists especially mainstream ones have done similar things to not pass up on big opportunities like this before. I'm as annoyed as everyone else for the last minute cancellation but holy hell talk about overreacting. People will be fine and forget about this once she releases a new song or album because everyone is fickle. Can guarantee it.

This is the best system for distributing tickets for high demand shows imo. Fair, low stress and not a total time suck. I am biased because I ended up with front row Eras tickets this way but I hope more artists do this in the future.

it's the fact that i debated going (since students, myself included being a grad student, were able to secure $10 tickets) and missed out on seeing this live

I was going to say even if the vmas suck now, chappell grew up in a time when they were much more iconic and maybe wants to put on her own iconic performance but then I realized wait she was like two when Britney did her slave 4 u snake performance and now I'm just gonna go sit in the corner and be old

Wild how sparsely attended the show was for being on a college campus. Tickets were $6 on StubHub an hr before the show.

Feel bad for whatever awful shit she’ll most likely get for posting that. But she’s right.

I agree with her too. There are so many ways you can get screwed out of your money when you are traveling. It’s like those emails I get from DraftKings…you shouldn’t gamble money that you can’t afford to lose.

  18. I didn't know Americans were traveling to Europe to see artists who also tour in America, we shouldn't be doing that. European shows should be for Europeans. it sounds so obvious when you say it aloud

The only artist I could see myself planning a trip around going to see would be Long Beard, and that would still be within the United States. I had tix to her tour in 2020 opening for Anna Burch here in LA but that got canceled, and I'm pretty sure she's only played east coast ever since.

Now that I think about it, I guess I'm privileged to live in a city where most tours stop by. I can see why people would drive to another state to see someone if they weren't playing anywhere more nearby

I can't even fathom as an American having the money to travel to Europe for a concert lol

I've heard ppl say with all the fees here and scalping it can be cheaper to fly to Europe for a concert. But it's never occured to me to do that so I've not looked into the numbers

it's true it happened for the Eras tour and the Renaissance tour haha, European countries fund arts so sometimes it's cheaper and sometimes you can get cheap random flights

It’s not just Europe either. People will travel to Australia as well.

Yeah, if you couldn’t snag face value for Eras in the US it was absolutely cheaper to go to Europe.
