This restaurant on the beach near me had short ribs that had some sort of root beer marinade on it and let me tell ya ... I hate root beer but those were the best short ribs I've ever had

I normally do a Carolina style mop sauce for ribs on the smoker. Not saucy and doesnt have that extra dry seasoning bullshit either.

  3. I learned how to make korean bbq sauce a couple of weeks ago and used it to recreate this app I had at a wedding, which was shredded short ribs on small crostinis topped with green onions. Phenomenal.

  4. My controversial food opinion is that filet mignon is a severely overrated cut of steak

    I agree with it

My controversial take is that pork is better than steak if done well

Im an Iowa boy so by law I have to like pork, but I would never choose it over beef.

  8. I prefer most steak over most pork preparations but love a good rack of ribs or tenderloin

Ribeye is the preferred steak cut

I love pork but it's just nowhere near as tender as a nice cut of steak

I would gladly take pulled pork a million times over a steak

  11. This is not exactly true if you slow cook it

There's these pork chops that I get a the butcher by my house that are the most tender pieces of meat, and like a third the cost of steak

    How expensive is steak anyways?

I bought 2 lbs of pork chops at walmart for like $9.50 the other day. Felt expensive. I never make steak though.

I think pulled pork is super overrated and I know that's very unpopular

Like, I'll still eat it, but meh

    I hear ya

it can be wonderful or a sweaty mess, which is why I usually opt for sliced pork

My fiance doesn't eat beef or pork (except I know she gets secret burgers without me) and we try to eat at home as much as possible, so I'm always jonesing for something other than chicken.

Love a good tri-tip off the grill, something my family used to have like once a week growing up.

I knew about Trump’s proclivities for Diet Coke and McDonald’s (which I’m fine with honestly) but that last thing - wtf

  20. Air fryer seems like the most chaotic way to cook a thick pork chop haha

My air fryer cooks meat great, even has a grill plate you can put in there.

I made pork chops in my air fryer a couple days ago, they were great. Ribs in an air fryer turn out great too (not as good as some crazy 13 hour smoke or some shit but for a 20 minute dinner it’s awesome)

the only problem is the basket isn’t big enough. It’s such a pain to clean, I want to get a lot of meals out of each cook. And if I’m making wings in it I want to put like 3 dozen in there

Not at all! It came out wicked good. Season it up and throw 2 lbs of meat in for 20 mins at 375, flip halfway, then done!
