Has anyone watched the new Terminator Zero anime? I'm actually pleasantly surprised by this one. Yes, it does tread on a lot of common ground between films but it does touch on an element that hasn't really been seen since the first film, horror.

 

I thought about it. How much of Terminator lore do I need to know? I’ve just seen 1 and 2 and that was years ago.

 

Surprised by how much they’re covering if it’s still only 4 episodes. Didn’t expect the maternity ward stuff to make the cut (unless it’s literally just a little aside).

Some of the animation looks weird though. Looks like the CG/Anime stuff that’s been coming lately. Still pumped

 

Just watched Days with my Step Sister. Visually I thought this was really good but the story... well it has some good moments for sure but I'll need to see how this plays out.

 

I've only seen clips, but I'm going to assume the thing giving you pause is that it's heading in the direction of them developing feelings for each other? I don't know how much anime you've watched, but that's a very common trope in Japanese anime, way more prevalent than you'd think.

 

Like if you made a drinking game out of every anime out there to have a trope along those lines, you'd be dead.

 

Quite a lot over the years but I haven't seen a whole lot of scenarios like this surprisingly! I'm glad you've said that though as I was wondering if it was more common. Generally it's a 'no no' here in western culture and it would probably give family 'the ick'. Overall the story is somewhat similar to My Stepmom's Daughter Is My Ex.

 

Yeah, that's actually the first one I thought of, but yes, it's a trope used quite often, sometimes for laughs, sometimes for drama, and don't get me started on how much anime loves their brocons and siscons. It, like a lot of anime tropes, is something you either just run with or you don't. It's like they want to be Alabama.

 

felt like rewatching jjk hidden inventory but s2 isnt on netflix so i resubbed to crunchyroll. will probably watch frieren after to make the most of it before canceling in a month

or i'll keep forgetting to cancel like last time and hold onto it until january without actually watching anything ahhh

 

so jealous of people who get to watch Frieren for the first time, such a special show.

I haven't been watching much Anime lately, largely because my attention span is completely fucked and it's hard to focus on anything. I'm 4 episodes into Losing Too Many Heroines and I really love the animation. Fun show

 

I'm one episode away from finishing Season 1 of Komi Can't Communicate and it's just such a treasure. I know everyone already knows this but Komi is absolutely adorable. It gives me comfort in these trying times.

 

On 920 of One Piece. Wano is fun so far.

I don't listen to Blackpink but i do watch Demon Slayer so when Lisa was rapping on the radio I got super confused

I'm rewatching jjk entirely out of order. I watched the first half of s1, then jjk0, then hidden inventory, then the second half of s1, and now I'm watching the rest of S2. It'd make sense if I did hidden inventory then jjk0 then the rest of the series bc that would be the chronological order of events, but no. This was just bonkers, random and completely unplanned

MHA anime is getting back into peak quality.

 

I could never watch something out of order intentionally unless it was designed that way, and sometimes not even then.

Like, Haruhi Suzimiya aired in a broadcast order that's completely mixed up, and I cannot fathom watching it that way and it still being enjoyable and making sense.

But on a second run, I imagine it helps you make connections you might not have made otherwise.

 

apparently I'm really bad with names. first time through I initially didn't make the connection between present day Nanami, Shoko, Utahime, and their respective Hidden Inventory counterparts. I only recognized Mei Mei bc she has blue hair, Yuki bc she has blond hair, and Geto bc he's Gojo's bf.

 

I only read the series, but I still felt Wano went on for too long. There are some really great moments and fights though.
