I have a love/hate relationship with them, like they take two steps forward, release good games and then take two steps back, and cancel blue protocol before it could even release in the west

 

I was obviously joking but most people really don’t see the industry in terms of developers, mostly just publishers if they pay attention at all but even then that’s a level of commitment to the hobby your average person just doesn’t have. Like would a random person on the street know epic is responsible for both gears and fortnite? No. Sometimes I wish I operated with that level of blissfull ignorance, and sometimes I do just forget all the bullshit and JFG

 

I think my problem with the prompt is 99% of devs fall under something like this lol. Some good, some bad, too busy tripping over their own dicks to really be great. There are a few prestige devs I think should be held in high esteem but even then capcom couldn’t help but usher in a ton of bad press for dd2 with the egregious cash shop for no reason at all

 

Yeah I wasn't being serious with that at all.

 

Not to mention the Mega Man Legends 3 debacle.

 

Total coincidence haha. It had been on my list for a while and it felt like a good time for a Metroidvania. I enjoyed it quite a bit! The story was kind of whatever, but the movement felt pretty good, combat was fun, and the healing system was unique. The presentation was astounding all throughout, too.

To be fair, I've seen probably half a dozen at least reviews calling it "one of" the best platformers of all time - it's not just one reviewer taking it to the extreme. Obviously the proof will be in the pudding after release, but things are looking good.

 

I regret not taking off work tomorrow.
