It’s like when people used to try and hit Bernie (this is not a Bernie appreciation post, to be clear) because his bipartisan record was supposedly bad and when you look at what things “get done” in Washington over the past 20 years you shouldn’t want anything to do with it. “Effective” is such a stupid, stupid fucking term in this context. “I was an active part of the team” doesn’t mean shit if what the team’s doing sucks.
