I was told by my doctor that they don't even recommend Paxlovid anymore because the side effects are often worse than the symptoms of having COVID. Seemed kind of... Unwise to me. But googling around does seem to indicate that researchers have not found evidence that it reduces the chances of long COVID.

Bruh Trump just had Netanyahu at his HOUSE, it's being reported he's telling him not to do the ceasefire, do you not remember how pro Israel he was in his term? I AGREE with everything you just said but there is ZERO reason to believe that him in a 2nd term would be better for the Palestinians. ZERO. I actually believe he'd be worse and before you ask how it can get worse, I'll answer. He'll ensure it's sped up and 100x the amount of bombs and dead bodies in a sped up timeframe.

obviously there’s more to the picture than that as to why he did it but I’m sure you know that

i have not see anything else corroborating that trump telling netanyahu to not do a ceasfire.

the substance of their conversations are probably no more different thatn bibi's with kalama or biden. just different levels of poorly made sentences.

You said it a lot better but this is basically what I feel. Strategic. Is it right? No. Evil? Yes. But I remain hopeful they don't want it to continue and yes y'all can point and laugh and call me a fool but I hope with enough pressure (like the UAW ) they budge even an inch.

Maybe since you spoke so eloquently you won't draw the ire of Nate and Dylan.

Well hey, you vote however you want and I'll do the same and we'll just have to see how the chips fall. But that doesn't mean I'm justifying genocide I'd like you to get that through your head.

Yeah, win and then dona ceasefire. Which is something I've said before? I've said they can wait til after the election and reverse course on not saying anything now that they've won and be tougher on Netanyahu. They're quietly in favor of it but can't say anything to potentially lose people.

Sounds like something easy to make at home. Flour tortillas, banana pudding, bananas, cinnamon sugar, graham cracker crumbs, and whipped cream.

This has been the argument on abortion rights, healthcare, labor issues, and a host of other topics for as long as I’ve been paying attention to politics. “Let the Dems do their cynical numbers games to win, then you can push them left once they’re in office.” It has never worked out. I agree with you, that they’re making a calculation for who they want to vote for them. The idea that they’re going to betray those people for something that I - a person whose vote they do not court - want doesn’t add up to me.

Hmm the doctor I talked to said most people don’t have side effects from it so she doesn’t have an issue prescribing it

See this is where the arguments lose me. There are people here still insisting the Democrats of 2024 are the Democrats of 1992 and that's, like, clearly not true.

There are things that they have loosened up on or conformed to popular opinion on, some in positive ways and some in negative. In some ways, they are still the party of Clinton. But who the party is oriented around has remained the same: their donors who represent the ruling class. You and I historically disagree on the efficacy of relying on their benevolence and their receptiveness to pressure from grassroots movements, and I don’t think it’s worthwhile to rehash all that.
