Conan recently had an interview with a fan on his podcast, who works at a treatment/recovery facility, that I thought was pretty interesting and enlightening

I genuinely believe abolishing HGTV and jailing the property brothers would help lower the average cost of housing by a minimum of 10%

Im asking this because I genuinely want to know and can’t for the life of me decipher it, and I might just be having a hard time: what are you trying to say with this post?

  9. Are you implying the genocide in Gaza is as real (not at all) as the "genocide" of unborn babies? Would you like to please state that with your whole chest?

It appears Indonesia’s brief stint in “democracy” might be coming to an end.

This is embarrassing to admit, but without AOC, I wouldn't be a communist. I was so discouraged as a full-on resistance lib by the lukewarm 2018 midterm results that I latched onto her surprise win. And then I slid past her ideologically from there, especially during Bernie's 2020 caucus surge

We're most vicious towards the people who actually listen to us, or who we feel most betrayed by. I get it. She got swept into the insidious American political system over the last half-decade. But I originally fell out of it because of her

idk. Im easily influenced and make a lot of emotional decisions. but I'm doing my best lol

I’ll say this much - I don’t really think AOC in her interior life is an evil person. I think in her early career, you actually can see instances of her bumping up against the limitations of her position/party within the larger framework of American imperialism and being obviously flustered by it.

To me, the larger issue is that “working to change the system from within” means you can be someone like AOC - someone who I and a lot of other people relate/d to - and be transformed into someone who says things like “if you’re an immigrant, Kamala is for you” weeks after she embraces Trump’s border policy, or “she will work tirelessly for a ceasefire” based off nothing. Bernie Sanders was a radicalizing figure for me. Hell, Obama got a lot of young people engaged and energized and excited by what new possibilities might come into view. But it’s precisely because of how those two horizons were captured by an imperialist/capitalist party that I can’t buy into any of it anymore. I just do not believe it works.

I think AOC believes her name is really Reek. Then they told her to pretend to be this congresswoman from the Bronx named AOC.

I think she’s a Dem socialist on policy who decided the best way she could feel she was helping to make people’s lives better would be to get into a position to make policy herself. And the trade off to that is sometimes you have to say things publicly that don’t rock the boat if you want to gain more power and be able to impact even more people. At the end of the day, saying Harris is “for immigrants” means absolutely nothing on what laws end up impacting immigrants, the discussions and arguments at the committee hearings and behind closed doors amongst the committee reps and staff do. Those arguments for your preferred policy are more fruitful to you if 1. The party you caucus with has control of the legislative body and 2. The president is more likely to sign off on your ideas
