hope he joins Brentford, that would be neat

who the hell is coming in as depth especially if Joe Gomez also leaves

  2. Solanke was getting in some good spots. So, despite not scoring, I thought he played well.

It’s just extremely frustrating to watch the guys dominate possession and look so confident with the ball…up until it’s time to shoot the ball. Instead, they try for one more pass. Every time. I think in the first game-week we had the most possession, most touches in the box, most crosses into the box etc….but only 10th for xG. And of course only one goal scored.

The goal we gave up was poor defending. That kind of thing needs to be cleaned up, but it was very much an outlier in the game. One mistake like that shouldn’t be the difference in a win or draw/loss when you’re dominating possession and moving the ball so well for majority of the game.

If you don’t take advantage of all that possession, it’s meaningless.

Great opening weekend of matches. Happy to see ManU back in the title race again :/

  4. Of all the poor signings Spurs have made over the years, it’s really strange to me that so many fans focus so much on the Brennan Johnson signing. They really hate the guy for some reason. He’s not world class, but he’s been fine?

HITC have posted a video about Fabrizio Romano. Love to see people turning on him.

Defector also posted an article about his constant Mason Greenwood updates too

I wish we didn’t have the likes of Romano simply for the fact that it’s made football discourse during the windows unbearable as well as just simply for the fact I miss the days when you wouldn’t know who a club was in for until a guy holding up a shirt at the training ground.

Ended the gameweek bottom of our league and went wildcard with it. My bench was too strong, too much reliance on defense and the wrong defenders in there. Feel better long term with a min max’ed team to put it in video game terms.

Walker over Ben White is nuts but I guess that would make the defence too Arsenal based.

Also wouldn’t have Raya but can’t remember any keepers impressing really.

  12. FC Noah, the Armenian team someone posted about in here, won again today, 3-0. Looks like they’ll make the Conference League group stage.

Yeah, that was me. Looks like they'll qualify despite needing to go through all the qualifying rounds. Great story, I hope they get a good draw.

  14. A signing I keep forgetting happened haha but sounds like he’s having a great season for his current club. Interested to see if we loan him out in January when he arrives.

This is pretty cute. Nice to see what footballers are really like, especially when it’s this wholesome

He’s been the clearest weak point up front. He’s great as a final third of the game sub, but other than that, he hasn’t been offering much. I don’t hate him, and he’s still young and can figure it out, but I haven’t been impressed with him, and he’s the first one I’d replace of our front 3.

Johnson seems to be like a player who is technically sound, high game IQ and understands the system well, puts the pressing work in but just doesn’t have that next level/cutting edge in the final third which is so often the only thing that matters to fans.

Really good section on the TIFO podcast today (yes, it’s back) about Chelsea and how they’re following a baseball-style model of squad building that totally misunderstands how football works.

They also point out they can’t even register them all, and are likely to have to sell off or loan them out for cheap in the next few weeks. They gave the example of Raheem Sterling and how he’ll probably get loaned out to a rival like Arsenal or Newcastle, and Chelsea will still be paying most of his wages.

Chelsea are just going to have a squad for each competition to stay competitive and fresh and to defeat player burnout and overuse. Love to see the creativity at work.

This is an INSANE thing to say.

“Yeah, half the squad that we spent over £1bn forming is currently froze out. But honestly, it’s not a mess!”

Looks like Gundogan is going back to City... for free... to make the necessary space for Olmo to be registered. Also looks like Vitor Roque is going to Betis on loan for the season.

Thank God for Chelsea or else we'd be the most embarrassing club out there.
