Schumer's senate seat in 2028 would be better if he doesn't run for re-election

She should make noise about running for governor in 2026 but ultimately just as leverage to get the party's support for going after Schumer's seat in 2028

Honestly even after her moderate pivot I still don't think AOC is electable in New York at a Senator or Governor level. Maybe mayor of NYC eventually.

Her best bet is to go the Mayor Pete route and work her way up the cabinet level.

I don't know anything about Hochul, and don't really care; but, like how in the world did she get elected? That was elementary school public speaking-level.

Would be interesting if she guns for Sec of Labor. It depends, really, if she wants to make a run for president someday. Harder to do that if you're more of a 'politic' person that isn't as audience facing.

shes a democrat in new york

She won by 7% in a state that Biden won by 23%

Compare that to Whitmer, who won 10% by in a state that Biden won by 3%

Biden knocking off some major legislative accomplishments and then actually stepping down like people wanted him to because they could tell he didn't have the juice anymore, he's gonna get hailed like a fucking saint tonight.

Governorships don't really work the same in the Northeast. Every once in awhile you get a Republican governor and that's not representative of the state being liberal or conservative.

Hillary not being a vilified washed up has been ashamed to show her face in public is the biggest failure of the American Democratic Party

Selfishly on a national level I would love to have her in the senate. Especially because we won't have Bernie and Warren much longer and someone is going to have to pick up the progressive/dem socialist torch when they're gone.

But if we're talking she should run for president some day, governors historically have had better luck running. yeah yeah, Obama and Biden (and probably now Kamala), but still. Idk.

Hochul sucks shit but the NY Dem party is too craven to allow anyone to legitimately primary her. She’s gonna be the candidate until they act shocked that a Republican governor is elected in NY state…again
