Nah that’s my entire point, the Karen attitude is lame and I’d rather avoid it as much as possible so no thanks on an HOA pool lol. I much rather go somewhere public where people are not too entitled to accept that it’s important to both be courteous but also be accepting of other people using a space slightly differently than you would prefer

 

I didn’t move the goalposts haha I was saying “I don’t enjoy cig smoke smell or binge drinking but I respect others right to have a good time even if it slightly annoys me”

 

They should make weed that smells good. Vanilla, baked cookies, etc

 

seeing someone being obnoxiously drunk in public is not remotely the same as being bothered by someone elses weed smoke being too close to you for your own comfort/enjoyment lol

i get what youre saying, i do, but it is not an equal comparison at all lol

but if I went like way on the corner of a building outside, where no one is, to smoke and you’re mad you smelled it for 3 seconds when you walked by that’s just dumb, move on lol

Our HOA dues are only like $28 a month and that includes trash and recycling which is pretty much what we'd have to pay to hire a company anyways lol and they're entirely hands off. I'm not really sure why we even have one

As someone who loves a weed and would've killed for the current state of that culture when I was 17-25, it is tiring that I seemingly cannot go anywhere anymore without smelling weed.

 

i should be clearer about the fact that this scenario where I have a J at the pool is not a scenario where it’s crowded and full of kids lol, more so I can find a spot where I can smoke and it won’t bother other people.

unless they’re the type to tell on me just cause they “saw me using drugs”

Usually community pools for neighborhoods have certain hours they aren’t being used at all. A pool at a park is different and probably packed all the time in the summer.

 

Florida made me staunchly anti-HOA but I've also been told they're particularly bad in Florida due to lack of resident protections so idk.

When I said I’d rather go somewhere public I meant like some springs or a beach where everybody has space. I did not mean I was gonna go smoke by the public park pool where 30 kids are taking swimming lessons and there’s nowhere to sit that isn’t 3 chairs away from Marty tanning. That wouldn’t even be fun lol

 

they dont protect the residents from alligators or republicans

That's correct they don't! My uncles place has a rule about what kind of cars you can park in your driveway but as far as the alligator infestation goes you're on your own.
