An opt-in HOA would be good

Like a union or whatever idk

I just don't like the idea of HAVING to be in it to own a house in an area but I get that defeats the purpose but I still don't want to

my neighbor just got some new fencing put in (not a euphemism) and man I really need to do the same

 

I wouldn’t if there’s kids there, but if 67 year old Martha has a problem with me having a small J on the other side of the pool at 2PM when everyone else is at their day job hours. She can shove it.

 

it's actually ok to make concessions to your neighbors sometimes, I promise

 

There’s a difference between complaining about smoking because it’s in your face and the person isn’t being considerate

Versus reporting / prohibiting it outside in a non crowded setting just because you don’t like seeing them do it

 

Nothing to do with seeing it and everything to do with smelling it

 

Back in 2020 when we moved from Washington to Florida, we drove through this little podunk ass mining town in the wooded valleys of Idaho. I haven't been able to stop thinking about it since. I've decided that after all my company RSUs are released in a few years we're gonna move there and buy a house nad have it be our forever home.

Less than 1,000 people live there but there are somehow two breweries. Beautiful place:

It’s not an enclosed space though, it’s really not that hard to be considerate and go off to the side and make sure the smoke isn’t wafting toward other people

 

As a smoker you underestimate how much things smell because you smell it so often

Smokers who don’t factor that in and remove themselves from where most people congregate to smoke are assholes, yes

it’s not impossible though and not every smoker is an asshole haha

 

imagine thinking youre ever going to sign an HOA that says smoking weed at the community pool is A-OK lol

 

This fucking Karen won’t let me smoke meth at the pool, just trying to enjoy my day off!

 

I don’t think that. It’s actually a reason why an HOA community pool is my least favorite swimming experience and I’d rather swim so many other places lol

 

I can smell weed from like a mile away. Unless it’s a pen it’s very noticeable.

I don’t want to see drunk people stumbling around and yelling for no reason or smell cigarette smoke occasionally either. But there are other people in the world so that’s that. At some point being so aggressively anti people smoking weed outside is a huge double standard.

My office is on a residential street. One neighbor (a few doors down and across the street) sits on her porch every morning smoking weed. Every morning that I have my office window open one of my staff makes a joke about me smoking in my office because of how much it wafts into my window.

 

I don’t even know if mine works anymore. I just eat a weed if imma partake.

 

im definitely not anti folks smoking weed outdoors, i do it myself. i am however very aggressively anti the folks who have absolutely no regard for other people around them and light up as if its their birth right to do so. people who smoke cigarettes by now basically have it ingrained that theyre the ones who need to excuse themselves to smoke, not the other way around. i do wish folks who wished to partake in smoking weed in public would often times have the same courtesy.
