i feel like it's a stylistic choice, no? certainly around the GDIH/self-titled era i remember they were being deliberate about having a rawer sound, and it seems like that's what they've stuck with.

Sounding like Foo Fighters on ISWSOF was a bug, not a feature.

it clicked yesterday listening to this why everyone is saying it's their favorite FYS album, it's pretty easily accessible, the sound blends with 2024 and other current bands sounds. its less their 'core' sound, the lyrics are easy to digest, the riffs aren't as complicated if that makes sense. its definitely a fun record.

why is it your favorite FYS album? it's only been out a week, will it still be your favorite down the line? just my random thoughts

  4. We'll agree to disagree on that, I think that abum is very underrated even if it their weakest!

they just completed a summer tour with the boring so far and a fart to remember. I'm sure that tour helped!

10 days in and this album is great. No obvious duds. Might be my favorite of theirs.

Kind of shocked to see how many people here aren't overly keen on Brain Pain, that album is absolutely killer, as is this new one. The band has gotten consistently better with every release since the GDIH EP, in my opinion.

Favourite track on analysis paralysis has to be "out of touch" so far but I think every track on it minus the last one is just pure banger after banger.

I was actually just listening to Brain Pain and head banging/air guitaring all over my kitchen while doing dishes (I’m lame leave me alone). It’s so fun. I’m not sure why it never latched on more than it did in 2020. Maybe something happened that made me not listen to a lot of sunny and heavy pop-punk songs.

It got screwed big time by covid I think. I definitely think that it deserves as much or close to as much praise as this album is getting

This new album has gotten me back into the band in a big way. I've been listening to Brain Pain and S/T a lot which I mostly dismissed on release and I found they are really great albums. For many years I maintained I was only an EOTW/GDIH EP fan (along with some songs from RODT) but now for whatever reason the entire catalog is just clicking with me.

I even gave ISWSOF a fresh listen (probably my first try in over a decade) and found some songs to enjoy.

Anyone who is interested in some merch/vinyl/CDs pure noise has some great sales going on at their store.

love this album but pretty disappointed in this attitude. I dont like the idea of calling someone who makes ai stuff an "artist". doesnt exactly surprise me when FYS has always had the worst art of any band I listen to, with their music seemingly being better the worse the art is haha

It’s really disappointing, the actual art made by artists for their merch and your posters looks great but the album art looks atrocious.

The cover art is wild, and perfect. Their reply seems totally reasonable. It started as something generated by AI, and then went through creative human beings. Can AI not even be used as a starting point? It’s not like they wrote the songs using AI.

I use AI that way in my job. It helps me with scripting/coding as a starting point, then I edit it where I see issues. I see the problem though since code and art are fulfilling different purposes. I still don't like the art, but yeah, their only album art that is fine is my least favorite album of theirs.

where would i be if i was my brain Prestigious

I mean it still takes an element of creativity to come up with the prompt for AI to generate an image.

  24. I love the album art

and also this album is just constantly on repeat for me - it's so fun

If you're getting paralysis over the use of AI in their album artwork and marketing, then you might want to get an analysis of your brain pain.
