I really doubt Phoenix left because it was a gay role.

 

The Rock is gonna drive Gravedigger isn't he? That is the truck every 8 year old boy thinks is sick as hell so of course he'll be.

 

Just want to say I think the hate here for both Scrubs and Garden State goes too far. I get it for the latter, but I also think it’s very understandable why so many people of a certain age loved it when it came out. My ex at the time loved it and after hearing her experiences with trying different types of drugs for mental illness and how it made her feel, I could see why that movie spoke to her. And I feel like tons of millennials around that age connected with it because of that lol

Scrubs hate is weirder to me as yes it’s a little overhyped these days BUT it some ways it was and is deserving of some of that hype. It was a great show for its time.

 

Most people I knew who had seen it loved Garden State when I was a teen, including myself

 

I loved Scrubs when it aired and continue to do so with each rewatch.

 

I will say when I was a kid I didn't realize how much of a huge asshole J.D. was to Elliot, but still have a good time watching it otherwise haha

 

Garden State was awful but his Kickstarter movie was so much worse. Just a truly disgusting film.

Scrubs is terrible and I'm very happy for anyone who loves it

 

Born into enormous privilege Zach Braff really made the message of Wish I Was Here that public schools are so terrible that the fear of his children setting forth there is what it take to make Braff's character grow up and take responsibility.

 

Yeah, Wish I Was Here combines a shit story with the absolutely terrible combination of bad vibes from both Braff and Gad.

The only good thing is the cameo (and last appearance) from James Avery aka Uncle Phil. He has the one decent joke.

It was one of the first times that celebrities went to Kickstarter. I remember calling it out at the time and people defended it for some reason. Braff claimed that no one would fund the movie, and in retrospect we know why.

Now all he does is direct anonymous studio films and make commercials reminding people that he was in Scrubs.

 

Imagine not getting credited on this movie

Borderlands film goes from disaster to farce as the guy who rigged Claptrap says neither he nor the model artist are credited

 

Scrubs would be remembered more fondly if Braff had anything else remotely interesting to his name I feel like. Dude just sucks and pumps out crap and takes himself so seriously and like Tetra said has to do “remember Scrubs???” if he even wants to get a commercial gig. Like every time he reminds us of Scrubs since it ended has degraded Scrubs’ reputation just by association with post-Scrubs Braff

 

Scrubs is bad. Garden State is worse.

 

Or if it was funny or good

 

Scrubs was absolutely hilarious

 

I will say - Garden State soundtrack is good. And it got Peter Sarsgaard some work from it.

 

Counterpoint he cast Jim Parsons which basically lead to The Big Bang Theory

 

Natalie Portman made Zach Braff listen to The Shins and now we gotta find out what Sheldon was like when he was young.
