Private lenders cannot garnish wages, only federal. They could sue you in court though, but at that point they’ll settle anyway.

not sure what state youre in, but in NY student debt is considered consumer debt and the statute of limitations is 3yrs. I was able to dodge Navient for 3yrs to get $43k thrown out, once the SOL was up they were unable to do anything.
