How has she moved left? She hasn’t committed to anything and called pro Palestine protesters antisemitic. I’m hopeful pressure can get to her but just claiming she’s moved left on Palestine without a single commitment doesn’t put any pressure on her

Maybe I could've been more clear in my wording. I meant she is the political candidate that presents the biggest opportunity for us to push her left of the issue if she were to be president. I understand she's in a tough position because VPs don't have their own agendas, and are there to be completely aligned with the president; but where she elected, she is definitely the most 'responsive to pressure' option we have at the moment.

Well the only other option is Trump lol but I tend to agree that it seems like her positions sway heavily with popularity/pressure so there’s opportunity there.
The VP stuff doesn’t work for me though because she’s running for President. You normally have to put forth your policy positions, particularly if you’re the democratic nominee. This is unprecedented times but I think we should still expect some policy.

He’ll have no political capital left if he loses again and any attempt to come back in 28 will either result in defeat or his party finally primarying him but given his close brush with death I actually don’t think it’s out of the question he’ll give it up if he loses for good. I also don’t think he lives four more years or if he does he’ll look more and more like Biden does every day and running will look exactly like it did for Biden

I mean make no mistake, if he loses this year there will be a huge “election was stolen” fervor again that will go nowhere and end with several lawsuits getting tossed out

He'll 100% lose his political capital. The agenda itself won't go away - though I am sure it'll be modified a bit. Less talk of abortion, etc. You're already seeing that. But more and more elected people will ditch him because he hasn't won much of anything significant since 2016. If he loses another election himself, they'll ditch him and find someone new to pin their creepy agenda on and rebrand.

The question would be - who? Cause JD Vance is kind of the poster boy for the right-wing extremist, 'too online' persona, and he fuckin' *sucks*. Haley will be seen as too moderate. So, I genuinely have no idea who they go to.

His campaign is as good as dead if he actually goes for it and I think he will lol

If he did this with no leak, it'd be nuts. Trump does know optics, tho, and these videos of Vance talking in front of police stations to like 10 people while Harris is filling arenas and airplane hangers is terrible optics.

I was not expecting the Trump campaign to absolutely blow it this hard this early on and going back on the disastrous VP pick only opens him up to way more ridicule from undecided voters

yes, but by being one of the only two candidates that are deemed allowable in a liberal democracy. thats it.

Realistically, tho - could this also just be him testing out this line of attack that Harris hasn't done a press conference?

Equating wanting trump to win with wanting to stop supporting genocide doesn’t make the choices seem very good on either end

Probably not tbh but who knows he could just get on camera and ramble about communist Kamala for an hour and a half unfiltered

  19. Now is when you put the pressure. Why would you wait until after the person you're trying to pressure already has their power?

    Re: the Trump presser
Reminds me when Obama was in office and Trump announced a press conference suggesting he has evidence of Obama born outside the U.S. When the press conference aired, all he could do was bullshit and finally said if Obama himself can produce irrefutable evidence he was born in the U.S., then Donald would donate $10M to the charity of Obama's choice. Of course nothing came from this and we all collectively forgot.
