I don’t really agree with the conclusion as I think Pete is probably the most “boring” pick and thus less likely to create any excitement/momentum precisely because everyone kind of already knows what you’re getting in him while all the gov’s are fresh faces to the masses for the most part…BUT to me if you really really wanted to pick Shapiro, Pete seems like the compromise pick in that he can do all the things Shapiro can do as a communicator/campaigner. The only knock is he probably doesnt get you the 1 point bump in PA like Shapiro would. Which leads me to conclude..just pick Walz or Bashear.

 

I'm still too worried about the 70+ year old homophobes (my father included) who don't like Pete being on the ticket. That's a group that votes heavily. But Pete is great at explaining things, never loses his cool, and would be a great VP candidate (and future president, potentially).

That being said, my father abhors Trump and has already said he'll vote for Kamala/anyone.
