Taylor Swift in Vancouver.

 

I’ve gotten entirely different prices for the same seats on the mobile app vs the website for some things. No idea how that happens either.

 

I think Blink can have the biggest crowd for a headliner but because the other stage closers on Sunday are the weakest of the weekend imo.

Hozier vs Megan, SZA vs Stary Kids, and The Killers vs Skrillex vs Future x Metro Boomin will pull crowd both for TMobile and Bud Light (and Perrys)

But I dont see Blink vs Melanie Martinez vs Zeds Dead vs Ben Bohmer being a though choice for a lot of people

 

For what it's worth, I'm going Sunday with a group of 8 people, and only 2 of us are going to see blink, the rest are going to see Melanie. Not a super statistically significant sample, but I think Melanie is a bigger draw than people are predicting.

But also I'm selfishly hoping blink's crowd isn't as a big, so I don't struggle to move through it haha

She was listed 27th for her day at Coachella

 

Seeing the All Things Go lineup, I wonder if she will be pushed to headliner. She is definetly bigger than Renee Rapp and Conan Gray at least

 

If I was her management I would just cancel all these dates and do a headliner

 

I feel doing these huge fests give her the opportunity to get these massive crowd photo-ops, get exposed to people who wouldn't otherwise see her headline, and transition her stage-production from club to arena-level.

But she also announced a few C-market headline dates for this fall (6k-11k capacity) that all sold out instantly, which I think was a mistake tbh. Since opportunites to see her are so few relative to the demand, every show she announces gets absolutely swarmed with ticket scalpers and out-of-towners. It's so hard for people to get tickets at face value, let alone local fans.

 

Fontaines D.C. have announced their biggest UK headline show so far!!

 

I wouldn't be shocked if Chappell immediately went to stadiums. The growth she's seen is unprecedented and with the right lineup I think it's very doable.

 

Idk if this was shared, but Taking Back Sunday’s LA show that’s supposed to take place in a few weeks was cancelled. Not sure if the band or venue made a statement

Came across this this morning, considering I turn 40 next week and still go to 2-4 shows a week I found this hilarious!

 

This feels like rage baiting. In any case, this guy can go fuck himself.

I got likes from Knifeparty and digitalbath. Makes up for missing the Deftones show at the Metro last night.

 

This reminds me when I went to see Olivia Rodrigo in 2022, me as a 29yo at the time, felt out of place. So I just stand next to the sound booth trying not to weird out all the teenagers and their moms next to me.

 

I took my 16 year old niece to see Maroon 5 at Summerfest last month, 80% of the crowd was either middle aged women, soccer moms or teenage girls.

At least I didn't have to feel too self conscious about being surrounded by 16 year old girls and not looking like some kind of creep.

 

Fwiw, my uncle is almost 60 and he hits up festivals all the time and is super in the loop with current acts. Age is just a number.

 

I’m 27 and most festivals I go to I’m pretty young in the crowd

 

The only 2 gigs I actually verbally out loud said I felt old was when I saw Phoebe Bridgers in Birmingham when I was in the queue for that but then I was at the balcony sitting for it, their was people my own age... and their kids! The 2nd gig was boygenius at Gunnersbury Park last year and yeah I stood out like a sore thumb... everyone else way younger than me were chatting and hanging out in their own groups and theirs me sitting on my own, didn't feel welcome or anything.. luckily the gigs were amazing which is the.most important thing.

Dreading what's its like for me turning 40 in a couple of months and going to one of the Julien Baker london shows and once again feel old and watching the gig at the back alongside the parents!

 

Looks like a small venue Green Day show is happening next week in Chicago:

 

1. His X account is pretty much just him talking about UK and soccer; his opinions are basically worthless to me.

2. I’d much rather be around 35+ festival and concert goers who can have a good time than a bunch of twenty-somethings that act like shitheads the whole time.

 

I once again will try for a Green Day ticket and will once again be disappointed
