bare minimum, if you're gonna include a download code, at least all a choice of audio format/quality. it's weird to open up a copy of the new Knocked Loose album and get a download for a 160 kbps MP3 copy.

i liked that brief moment when some labels would include a CD copy with the vinyl release.

The CDs would always make a weird indentation on the record cover if it wasn't packed correctly, but otherwise yeah that was cool.

I was sooooooo irked by that. Like, WTF? It's 2024. I haven't had a 160Kbps MP3 in my collection in well over a decade now, exception being b-sides and rarities that are otherwise unavailable.

Same here. Seems like most labels want you to purchase an additional copy to boost numbers. Lame

  8. Yeah it was great. My Early November Room’s Too Cold record definitely came with a CD.

Check out this CD indent on my TREOS record. The vinyl itself is super warped too. Probably why they stopped including CDs.

John // OC now, OH forever.

I bought some stuff from Dine Alone and they sent stickers and a cool patch.

Fireworks adding eclipse glasses to Higher Lonely Power was awesome, I actually used them. I still have the flexi that came with their first EP.

Aaron West’s deluxe version of the latest with the hidden 7” and the journal really help add to the world he built.

I might have that confused with Enjoy The Ride, I know they packed tests with a few orders.

Revisiting that WATIC record makes me wonder who I have to ask to press The Summer Set’s “Stories For Monday”.

The Rise Records 10th anniversary definitely had the cd in a paper sleeve in it!

Seemed to be CDs included, then / and download codes… now mostly nothing! Rise of streaming services, I suppose!

I’ve received extra records from other artists from the label once or twice before. That’s always a pleasant surprise.

  20. When I travel, or go to a couple of my local shops, I find local record stores and pick up 3 to 5 random cool looking punk/hardcore/emo 7 inch records from 90s/early 00s bands I’ve never heard of.

I typically choose ones that come with extra stuff inside. Stickers, zines, posters, etc. I even have one that came with a little recipe book inside.
