yeah Frank has posted studio pictures too many times for me to even think he might be dropping something

he’ll probably have a merch drop soon just to get the people watching

 

Yeah this is no different from the other "Frank is working on music" news we've gotten over the years

I'll believe it when I hear it

 

He’s doing a D’Angelo with these times between releases.

 

If the quality of the releases are as good as the albums D'Angelo released, i'm more than happy with that.

 

Here’s a guarantee that they won’t be.

 

I’d say Blonde was obviously very different from the music D’Angelo makes, but it’s easily one of my favorite R&B albums to this day

 

D’Angelo is a living legend who has made some of the most timeless music ever, regardless of genre and at times transcending the genre entirely. There’s no comparison lol. Blonde is solid but it’s meandering, bloated, and (IMO) overrated album that isn’t even Frank’s best from that year (both Endless and Channel Orange did more for me). But even comparing Frank’s best stuff to D’Angelo seems wild to me.

 

I'm not sure anyone is comparing the music. D'Angelo is on a different level to Frank. My comment was about what the quality of the music will be like if Frank takes his time like D'Angelo did.

 

Exactly, my comment was more around D'Angelo disappearing for years / decade + and then coming back out with a new project.

 

Frank and D’Angelo are two of my favourite artists, I think they’ve both made top tier music.

 

Yeah agreed. I also understand where the original comment was coming from and that they weren’t comparing the quality of the artists’ output to each other. But that being said, personally Frank is on a similar level at this point in terms of where I’d rank him in my favorite artists of all time. Both are amazing artists of course.

 

I love Blonde a lot but I do actually agree that Channel Orange is still better
