I could get into all the nerdy shit but inside the shed is an L-Acoustics system, can't recall if it's L-ISA but, regardless, it's awesome.

  2. I need to get to an indoor show at some point but Sad Summer at the Salt Shed outdoors was a really nice experience.

Nice. Got my ticket. That RF Friday is going to be tough though.

I forgot about Thalia because going to Pilsen from the north side can be kinda brutal, I’d definitely go more if I was closer

I haven’t been to the salt shed yet, so I went ahead and grabbed a ticket.

Not sure if this was posted here, but I just found out Sigur Ros and Hans Zimmer are playing Chicago same weekend as Riot. Having to pick between going to Riot and those 2 shows would be killing me right now

    It's chaos. Be kind. Prestigious

There isn't a single band playing Sunday that I would skip seeing Hans Zimmer live for.

Not Riot Fest related but relevant to the locals in here…looks like a surprise small venue Green Day show is happening next week:

thanks Strung Out for removing yourself from my contenders list! with that whole thing that happened yesterday + the vandals being pals with fox news hosts, and the entire existence of The Defiant, kind of a weird year for punk band politics

also strung out and LJG being on the same day/stage could make for an interesting backstage.

jason from strung out went on an anti-trans rant about the Olympic boxer (..who isnt even trans..)

Jason posted some aggro bullshit about that olympic boxer being trans. He deleted it when he learned that she wasn't but... The energy in the post was straight-up transphobic and reactionary in a very ugly way whether he realized it or not.

I didnt even know The Defiant was on the line up, wtf?

Honestly, that situation with Jason may lead to him growing. Hopefully, anyway. The fucked part is that he just deleted it rather than posting an apology/explanation... The "old punk/hardcore dude fuck you I don't care if you're offended" mentality strikes again. Fucking yuck.

Anyway. The nice thing about that stage is its loaded with bands I like but I've seen most of them enough that it won't stress me out to miss them. Descendents, Lagwagon, Face to Face, Swingin' Utters, and so on.

My must-sees in that department are: The Lawrence Arms, Dillinger four, ALL, and Laura Jane Grace/Catbite.

for me my main draws on that stage are LJG/catbite, The dickies, dead milkmen, and cobra skulls! plus at least 1, maybe 2 NOFX shows

Cobra Skulls are up there for me too! Them, the Buzzcocks, Codefendants, and Get Dead are on my "want to see if I can" list. And the Descendents too, despite what I said in my last post. Haha.

As far as NOFX goes: I saw them in San Diego. I'm seeing them twice in Boston on Labor Day weekend. So I'm gonna hope to be able to see them ~2 times over the weekend. Probably Saturday and Sunday given who the headliners are.

similar to me in regards to NOFX on sat and sunday. They probably lose to FOB on friday (as its been 20 years since ive see fob) but beat both Beck & Slayer in the rankings, but depends on who else they are up against because st. vincent on sat and sublime on sunday are both very high on my list.

I forgot Sublime was on Sunday. That'd win out for me. Maybe I can do both and split sets a bit...

Fall Out Boy is the only headliner I need to see at least a portion of a set from. I've somehow never seen them live except for like, half a song at Warped Tour 2004 when I was on my way to see the the Explosion on a side stage or something like that. LOL

Also, re: The Vandals, I think Joe is the only member that is buds with Fox News people. Everyone else in the band doesn’t adhere to that bullshit. But it still sucks, regardless

ehh, the whole band has collaborative merch with him on their website. Nothing is Possible
