I know there was some line of thinking that "post-trump when we start getting candidates with the same ideas but are able to communicate more articulately it's going to become a major problem", but now that those guys have started to rollout and have seen how people react to them I have become more and more convinced that after Trump is done the GOP is completely fucked

Like 6 years ago I was so terrified by the idea of someone like a JD Vance, but now that they're on the scene I see that I had nothing to be scared of lol

 

I would argue they already are now, all their hopes and dreams is basically tied to an elderly shit head who has pretty much alienated any one who wasn’t already on his side anyway and is doing the same tired act he’s done for almost ten years now. If he wins, it’ll be a pyrrhic victory ultimately.

I think it best not to get complacent but I’ve felt this a bit since Desantis absolutely flopped on the national stage this cycle. Who’s to say what would have happened with him if Trump hadn’t metaphorically stuffed him in a locker, but thus far that’s the best sign to me that most of these guys won’t be able to pull off the broad support Trump has on the electoral level.

Don’t underestimate republicans electability in 4 years if Kamala wins. It will likely be 4 more years of excuse making for why nothing gets done and the Supreme Court gutting more protections and people will get apathetic or want something different.
