the show's sold out and resale tickets are a little too pricey. but i was told i'd be on the guest list, so we'll see if that happens. if so, yes, i will be at the SLC show :-)

I have the same one! I regret so much passing on that 300$ box set they released some years ago.

I only regret passing on the box set because apparently BEAA won’t be released as a standalone. Would love a copy of that one on vinyl.

Really? I love that album but I got the feeling they are not very proud of it from what I’ve heard them in interviews/podcasts.

i personally missed it when i was younger, for whatever reason i never got the cd until i was much older.

my mxpx trilogy was buffalo, passing moment, and panic. not sure how i missed it either, noticed it later as an adult haha

    Not newbie, I think Supporter

I loved Before Everything but it was clear they were trying to be a little more New Found Glory sounding and a little less MxPx. 16 year old me loved it though.

NFG? BEAA came out in 2003. So, we're comparing it with the success of Sticks and Stones? It's possible. I always associated it with the surge of bands like Good Charlotte after The Young & the Hopeless. Regardless, I also love BEAA.

Yeah the move they made is obvious but it totally worked for me too. I still love it, and Panic too.

I built this vessel and it could capsize anytime Supporter

BEAA was the first Mxpx album I bought so it holds special memories. I knew their older stuff but didn't really get into them until that album. I remember freaking out when they had Well Adjusted on that Super Bowl commercial too

  20. The first MXPX CD I bought was Let It Happen. It had the most songs on it, so I thought that was a good deal haha. And then I got Life In General soon after that.

I remember buying BEAE on release day and 16 year old me felt so underwhelmed by it. lol. (it also came out the same day as Saves the Day's In Reverie which also didn't land with me with its different style BUT we don't have to talk about that band, haha).

with all this talk about it, maybe i'm due for another revisit. it's been so long.

On a technical note, BEAA is the first album I heard with blatant mixing/editing issues…Mike’s “s’s” are consistently cut off on one of the later songs…You Make Me Me, I think? I remember them saying the mixer was in a hurry and applied a setting too harshly that cut them off…baffled me that no one caught that before it was officially released. Once you hear it, you can’t unhear it too.

“Let It Happen”, the song, from that compilation is still my favorite MxPx song and one of my all-time favorites.
