    Howdy y'all! Supporter

Again choosing not to vote is fine and valid, but the only thing I have seen from some leftists not voting for Kamala (not here but other places) that truly annoys me though is the "if you post coconut memes and are doing Kamalaposting you're a traitor and fake leftist" stuff

Go and fuck all the way off with that bullshit.

They have ten billion and one polls to tell them why they’re losing votes. I just think it’s bananas to get on the high horse about people not voting because they’re dissatisfied with the options only to suggest they write in someone who doesn’t stand a chance

Donald Duck is certainly not the reasons they are losing votes. I'm not on a high horse. I'm no better than anyone choosing to not vote and it's telling you think that way.

Voting is a habit. It's a good habit to stay involved in.

This is something I've thought about sometimes and I wonder if this is also a way we've trapped ourselves. What if there was a grassroots movement to write in a particular person? Sure, it would fail, but even if it did, if enough people did it, it might send a message. And hey, there's always the miracle that it wouldn't fail, if enough people got onboard.

You've made no point. I don't think I'm perfect and I don't think people who don't vote are inherently worse than me. I think it's a dumb move. I don't think they are dumb people. I read the two longer posts about not voting and fully understand both of their points. I just don't agree with them.

    Keep swinging.

It just truly baffles me that people are just okay with accelerating shit like project 25 happening just to stick it to the Democratic party. Like, I'm genuinely furious with the party as well, but it's totally illogical unless you're in one of the reddest states in the nation. It just feels like a very privileged position to take when considering the unspeakable harm it will cause to others.

Even if it does fail it sends a clearer message than not voting. Biden won Georgia by what ~20,000 votes was it? (I'm not sure if this number is correct). If it were flipped and 20,000 people voted for Mayor Pete, you could absolutely sway opinion.

At least you'd like to think that logic is there. In reality they would still just do everything in their power to enrich the billionaire class.

What are the odds Trump ditches Vance? Can he? Has a VP ever been picked then dropped before?

Sorry if this is an annoying topic, I'm not around munch. People are certainly welcome to not vote and I don't think any less of anyone who doesn't vote. I just wish they would. Any rational discussion is better and more progression than straw-man Donald Duck arguments.

hey it doesn’t annoy me I’m usually the one doing it lol. I try to be a little bit more…pragmatic? Nicer? Idk…but I teach government so, I’m like “civic participation is always good!” turned up to 11 lol

You came in this thread piping hot ready to call people dumb who just made thoughtful posts about their positions. You’re being met with the energy you put out brother.

grateful all the fucking time Supporter

This line of reasoning is so common and so annoying. It’s not privilege to be driven away from the Democratic Party (especially given how many of the people driven away are themselves of the demographics let down by the party, or close to said people).

I need you to think about what you’re saying before you call people privileged for not voting for Kamala. Many of the people refusing to vote for her are Palestinian. Are they privileged? Are the people showing solidarity with Palestine by refusing to vote for Zionism all just privileged? It’s a pretty juvenile take man.

I'm not complaining. The other poster's contribution was just nonexistent. Guy is just creating data pollution, lord knows I've contributed my share lol
