  2. I dont begrudge anyone voting for a democrat but never again in my life will i let a comment like "not pumped about Palestine" go unchallenged. I'm a one issue voter at this point and the issue is a candidate needs to act like they believe Palestinians are human

Yeah that’s the part that convinced me to say something. I don’t think either of us are wrong for having our single issue and doing what we feel is best for it. But you’re not sitting here telling me trans kids aren’t truly in danger and I’m not sitting here watering down what’s happening globally

The bar really is so low and they refuse to go over it. I hope they attract enough independents in swing states to win tho, my vote never mattered anyway.

  5. This is all easy for me to say in Connecticut too, I admittedly have never had to truly grapple with the idea of not voting in a swing state. I still probably would vote, but I'd either make sure to qualify my answer anytime anyone asks or I'd just lie lol

Do you feel like CT is getting more or less progressive or staying where it’s been? California feels like it’s slowly getting more conservative so I’m very much just pushing to mitigate harm where I can. Which obviously isn’t very many places, but I’m of the “if even one person is better” mindset that was mentioned earlier

going out of my way to vote for a Democratic governor who wants to ban masks and thinks cars have more rights than me does not feel great haha, but seriously Long Island has always had maga vibes they're just more pronounced now

  8. On balance it's staying where it is I think. Which is still rightward than people assume, which is why I'll vote for state elections because like Massachusetts we are liable to elect republican governors. Maybe getting somewhat more polarized (with the poles being Bernie-Trump), but keeping the balance the same. I can't see it going red in a presidential for a very long time. But this is all vibes based I have no data

He’s def closer to center than left which may not be ideal when you already have a center leaning candidate. But yeah, the bio and Gabbi Giffords element are def attractive pros.

This is the conspiracy theory I buy into. I think everyone gets one. We have cured or made chronic sooooo many diseases but those are kept secret.

Here's two more viewpoints from possible VP picks on Israel/Palestine. No one is good, but Cooper seems to have given the "best" responses from the most talked about picks. Beshear and Walz are unknowns on what they believe. Obviously Shapiro is bad. Kelly not as bad as Shapiro.

This is where I’m at. I’m repulsed by our policies towards Israel and Palestine and have not been encouraged by Biden, or Harris yet. She has a chance now to walk some of it back which might help. I’ll be voting for her regardless because of threat mitigation but certainly get people saying “no, this is terrible fuck this.”

My hometown alt-weekly paper posted something I wrote about JD Vance being terrible recently, and one of the comments on twitter was “who the hell is Geoff Daniels? No twitter!” (a friend sent it to me) and all I could think was damn wish they could see me on here lol

I vote for the best major party candidate and I’m 100% happy to trash that person before/after I vote for doing bullshit. I’m not on the very left front lines but I’m far enough to get shit from centrists who don’t like any negative talk about any Dem. I appreciate folks who go more left and louder, as I believe it does help shift things more than if everyone lined up right where I am on the spectrum. I think where I get bugged sometimes is when people seem like they use leftist ideals to try to demean the people in their lives but that is more an occasional observation with people I know in real life and not something I can ascribe to folks online without a fair bit of ignorant assumption on my part.

In my experience and in speaking for myself I believe all the far left voices in this thread are sincere in their passion for a better society built on liberation and not for some sense of moral superiority but I know exactly what you mean when you describe those people because they’re everywhere online and IRL and imo weaponizing progressivism like that for gotchas or whatever is lib shit
