Saltburn and Promising Young Woman are some of the worst films of this decade.

I think it was only the first half of the book but it was a very good version.

If you’re going to hint at saying you think a certain director is bad, just say it lol. He literally only mentions X, Pearl, and MaXXXine in this quote in THR and he’s only seen one of them.

The interviewer specifically brings up MaXXXine in the question. I mean he seems pretentious af anyway, but he didn’t just randomly pick on those movies. Lol.

Not surprised World of Reel wouldn’t bother to include that context though. The dude that runs it is also a huge piece of shit and lies a lot.

good to know for future reference lol. Still just seems weird he mentioned modern horror and then didn’t pick anything else that wasn’t a Ti West movie, despite the prompt (I’ve only seen X so I’m not trying to defend him or anything lol)

Oh no, if you read the actual interview, he definitely sounds like a pretentious ass. Lol But it came off, at least to me, that he went with MaXXXine because that’s what the interviewer chose and then he just ran with those movies. The comment on X was definitely a dickhead way to put it though, but makes sense to bring it up with the other two since he actually saw that one.

Its common for artist to not seek out their contemporaries especially within the same genre. Those are the works that they are defined against and fear seeing them will influence their own works in-authentically.

EEOAO spoke on Rick and Morty and I heard a mordern fantasy author say the same thing recently, if they see something they like now they are afraid to touch it and on the otherside they don't want to be writing in reaction to things they dislike

Yeah this movie was just as funny as the first. Had me crying laughing. Hope I didn't wake the neighbors lol. Lost my shit at the end when both kids had their parents' vibrators. "We kind of have a no veins rule with our vibrators"

I'm surprised Redbox was still actually around. I hadn't seen a kiosk in forever.

Every once in a while a rare film comes along that unites almost everyone in disgust. Three Billboards and Green Book were similar experiences.

  19. Green Book is such an outrageous film. Perfect inheritor of the Crash (2004) and Driving Miss Daisy Oscar legacy

Good for her and respect for turning all of that down, but the people running these studios are absolutely brain dead.

Dumb that she's getting offers but even dumber that she's not trying to secure that bag.
