I've had to email them with ticketing and/or schedule questions a few times over the years and every time I got a really prompt and thoughtful, slightly informal multi-paragraph response. The one email from earlier this year was also pretty thoughtful.

So this is really weird and off-brand. And it's somehow almost worse that the shuttles are accessible and they don't know and/or didn't say that.

It’s in line with instances like in 2018 when no one knew what was going on until very close to the fest.

And refusing to address safety/overselling issues for MCR.

And their lack of communication with the Douglas Park neighborhood until that disastrous meeting with them (I know that guy didn’t technically work for riot fest, but that’s almost worse that they didn’t bother to send one of their own people)

and notifying the soccer team about their move to SeatGeek but stopping short of helping with a solution.

and Riot Mike’s unhinged rollout of riotland. Their professional communication crumbles in key moments.

I think it's more damning that they don't vet contractors appropriately.

Honestly, the only thing here that seems truly problematic to me is the Douglas Park situation (and that's the only one that, IMHO, reflects poorly on the festival). The soccer team scenario is 100% not Riot Fest's responsibility and festivals don't get "oversold." It was more crowded than usual that day but it's not like they went over capacity. And I'm not sure what people want/wanted the festival to say about that? There was a similar issue this year at Boston Calling and the festival was like, "We were still under the legal limit by a few thousand people. Sorry."

The FAQ specifies that wheelchair-accessible shuttles are available on request. They should fire whoever sent that email. LOL

Also noticed they posted the festival curfew times on the festival FAQ: Curfew is 11:15 on Friday and Saturday. 10:30 on Sunday. So it'll run about an hour later than usual probably the first two days and ~15-30 minutes later than usual on Sunday.

They actually do because of emergency plans.

I think the pins on the map for Delilahs and Avondale Tap are swapped.

What do you mean by "emergency plans" in relation to overselling? (Sincere question!)

Guarentees me a ride back to the hotel and is cheaper than an Uber? I'm in at least for day 1.

Why the fuck would you do Gman the weekend of a Cubs home series? That's going to be a nightmare.

Cobra Lounge might be your best option, just a few train stops on the pink line.

Also.Im sure there is a bus thay passes by Douglass that stops near Humboldt

That's what I thought you meant. But... How would overselling a festival help those things? I would imagine those things are built into the capacity limits?

They wouldn't. What I'm saying is that overselling is still possible with a festival and if they did do that with MCR, that's bad on their part.

Was hoping to see a shuttle coming from the Midway hotels. Seems like a no brainer to do some from there

I mean, I guess it would be. But wouldn't that be an issue with insurance? Maybe I'm too optimistic or naïve but I've generally assumed that the risk of doing that would prevent that from happening.

I was expecting that too, and a little bummed there isn't one.
