Now I’m listening to Four for the first time and this shit rules too? I’m beginning to think Bloc Party is underrated because most people only know silent alarm and maybe weekend

  3. People think they fell off when they just didn't properly grasp their moment in the sun - them headlining Reading and Leeds in 2008 was them on the cusp of a breakthrough but they went on hiatus twice in between records, with half the original lineup leaving, and then took ages to follow-up a transitional album that wasn't too well received. It really sucks how it turned out for them but they're having a moment this year I think.

For sure I also think they were at that point too at Glastonbury 2009. I’d kill for a re recorded version of how they play Signs live

During the Intimacy era, Russell would play this blue-burst telecaster for Signs and my younger self wanted that guitar so so badly. I can't even find the video of it now, but I was obsessed with it.

  10. So this band came on my radar a while back and they remind me a lot of them and The Go! Team (with the shoutey/chanted choruses on the singles). I thought their new EP would be right up this thread's alley

Not to be confused with the 00s emo band with the same name

  16. I actually can't believe I've been a fan of this band for close to two decades and never known about a song as good as "Cavaliers and Roundheads." I really dropped the ball there.

Rhododendrons has a serious chance of being their best song

I think England might be my favorite song on here, but the whole thing is amazing. Instantly one of my favorite Bloc Party releases lol

Pretty sure this is the first time we’ve ever gotten an HQ version of Vision of Heaven. Lots of these were floating around as b-sides from CD singles back in the day but not that one.

  20. They never released it outside of a 128k MP3 I think!

Once And Future King was a bonus track on my CD copy of AWITC. Nice to hear it again

    EDIT: Secrets too!

apparently the quality on the b-sides album is absolute dogshit (like the label using YouTube rips bad lmao). they're working on getting them back up in actual lossless. the wait for CDQ Vision goes on

Darn. Already taken down. Was a jarring trip back to first year postgrad hearing those yesterday. Was obsessed with AWITC and all of its treasures for an entire year and then it just completely left my life until yesterday
