12-20 year old me and all of my friends called everything gay. We had absolutely nothing against gay people. Doing that wasn't okay, but it was also what was commonly done. We didn't do it in front of people that were actually gay or to hurt others.

My views on LGBT issues changed between 12 and 20 and much more getting older and being among a lot of diverse sets of people. It's not a defense. Just is.

    I do not exist.

Happened to see the final date of the UK/EU tour in Manchester on Thursday. Chris apparently hasn’t been on this tour - weird seeing them as a four piece but they sounded great.

Spencer said the record has been mixed and is half way through mastering. He said they want to come back to the UK soon as this was the first actual tour here since 2017 (they’ve played a handful of festivals but nothing else).

It was good to see them. I was expecting nostalgia from the 20th anniversary but it felt fresh. Sadly only played Take A Breath and Hallelujah from the newer material, plus In Regards To Myself, Breathing In A New Mentality and Writing on the Walls. Would have loved to hear Thorn.

I’m guessing they couldn’t commit to the fan selected encore due to Chris not being there and playing to a sample… or maybe I misunderstood and that was US leg only.

    Anyway, good night.

This new UØ is so good. I can’t disclose too many details, but from what I’ve heard it’s miles ahead of Voyeurist (which I thought was incredible) and making me think of a LITSOS 2025.

So far I’ve heard just one song but it’s giving me great hope for this new album. Definitely the right “step forward” continuing what they were building on from Voyeurist and beyond.

By all accounts in the recent Spencer interviews my expectations are through the roof. He doesn’t bullshit and he’s always been super honest about reflecting on past releases. The idea that the 4 of them being locked in and genuinely having fun recording this record in the vein of define recording days and having a producer drawing out their best has me really excited. Would love to get Tom’s thoughts. he’s usually hyperbolic, but I enjoy hearing him talk about his experience in tbe band and commenting on new music.

I really didn’t care for the new stand alone singles and Vouyerist never captured me. I was relieved that they were partway through making a followup and scrapped it. Stoked you have heard a new song and are optimistic. They have added some great songs to the setlist post reunion so 3-4 new killer live songs would be great but a new front to back that lives up to their pre breakup albums would be unreal. LITSOS is my personal favorite. love when they get weird and avant garde for the genre. No one does it like UO from that 00’s heavy era.

I'd definitely be down for LITSOS 2: Electric Boogaloo. Let Go was at least kind of already heading in that direction with some of the riffs

I can see Tim and Chris pulling several muscles in their neck to that song live.

i could care less to hear safety live but if the encores are off the charts on deep cuts i’ll grab a ticket. also for the love of god they need to do a disambiguation tour with daniel. not a huge fan of the anniversary tours in general but i’d lose my shit if they announced a LITSOS disambiguation tour. two of the most formative albums from my teens. need divine eradication and deteriorating incline live.

This is gonna make the inevitable DTGL-heavy encore set hurt even more ugh hope these dates don’t blow it!

Man I’ve been pretty down on them lately but that was a great clip from Tim lol. Absolutely get down on that song live esp if Aaron is the one against it.

lol aaron and spencer have been wet sandwiches since the reunion. Tim and Chris carry the hype and optimism for the band. Also King State is one of my favorite all day spots on earth. I lived in Florida when it opened and Tim was behind the bar and super cool every-time I was in. Big time regular dude vibes shooting the shit with patrons.
