how’s that game that lightning mentioned me to check out

 

Not sure yet. I tried to play the tutorial for First Descendant a few hours ago and it never connected after like 5 mins so I gave up for today

 

Isles of Sea and Sky has been really really good. Really just have one complaint

The lack of clear "you have all the tools you need to solve this puzzle" is a bit of a bummer, but its made all the worse by the pit jump move. There were a number of puzzles that I struggled with that I'm 99% sure can actually be solved without the pit jump but you get the pit jump and suddenly the puzzle becomes fairly trivial, so you feel a little cheated out of the "proper" solution to the puzzle
Still a 10/10 game. Doesn't top the "wait I could do this all along?" discovery of Stephen's Sausage Roll or Monsters Expedition or the sheer uniqueness of Baba needed to crack my puzzle game mount rushmore, but very high A tier and a must play for any puzzle fans.

 

i think if I have enough space I’ll download on either system just to check it out

The job system in bravely default 2 is both incredible and wildly overwhelming as you unlock more jobs the combinations are endless and I think it’s really easy to accidentally come up with some horrible line ups

Prince of Persia: Warrior Within

 

Started Cyberpunk recently (2-3 hours in) and I am really liking the world and the gameplay but the writing and the overall tone of the game kind of sucks. Does this improve as the game goes on?

 

depends, what don't you like about it? it's a really well written and thought out game/story, but every character is a badass/try hard.

Bravely default 2: I am officially a good few hours further than I was the first time I tried playing the game and I’m having a much easier time but it is still a very hard game that requires considerably grinding between big boss fights because the power curve is quite steep between them. Still you’re gonna want to go level up different jobs for each character anyway and you actually learn about good job combos and synergy through the grinding process so it’s not entirely a waste. Overall I’m really liking this game, the vibes are so cozy and charming which is a fun juxtaposition for how hardcore its gameplay can be. this is a must play for any JRPG fans but be warned, you’re gonna have a hard time unless you grind. as someone who grew up playing wow and had to grind every day for my hardcore raiding guilds it’s not a deal breaker for me by any means


ghostrunner 2: I’m about a third of the way through this and while I am absolutely terrible and die a ton on every stage I love almost everything about this game, it just has some frustrating parts that could’ve used a bit more work. the combat encounters are essentially puzzles you have to solve by going about it in the right order since you die on one hit but you have a considerable toolbox to approach these in a variety of ways. it’s hard and not always fair but it IS always fun and very vibey


I haven’t picked returnal up in a good few days now but it’s on the back of my mind so I’ll be jumping in again soon here. I’m still waiting to buy shadow of the erdtree because I don’t have any money or a job rn but I’m getting close to fixing both of those things

Netflix: we just can’t crack this one

 

The showrunner was the guy from the umbrella academy who just got accused of a bunch of shit. His other upcoming show with Netflix isn’t moving forward either.

Nah, that's just a subset of cozy games. There's a lot of cozy games that have nothing to do with any sort of financial stuff or capitalism
