My mom told me the lawn was my chore, but the lawn mower was so old and took a ton of pulls to get it to start. She didn’t get it replaced until I moved out and my brother convinced her. I watered and fertilized it and it always looked great. But my allergies are so bad, I felt awful every time. One of the best part about having an apartment.

FIL just tested positive for COVID today. Symptoms started yesterday. We last saw him Tuesday morning so hopefully we're in the clear but fuckin hell, man.

Project 2025 Thread:

 

Saw my boomer dad earlier. "Did you see the liar vs the dementia patient?" was the first thing he asked me lol

 

this is horrifying

I feel like some voters are looking at the election like 'hey, I survived last time he was president, how bad could it be this time?'

 

Jon Oliver just did a video on project 2025. It’s hard to talk about it without looking like a paranoid loon but I think people really do underestimate an organized GOP’s capability to do bad, even if trump himself is still a buffoon. And they even more severely underestimate (somehow, which the first trump presidency should’ve taught us) how laws are only as good as the people, not institutions, defending them. I think you still come off as crazy if you say there might not be a 2028 election, and maybe it’s still a distant dream for the right, but they don’t need as many pieces to fall in place as people think and with 2025 many of those pieces are apparently very easily placed. Things don’t always take the form you think they will.

 

All I know is Dems will wield it as an instrument to threaten their constituents for not excusing their inaction

 

all of this makes it all the more infuriating that Biden won't step aside and let an able, appropriate candidate run

 

Yeah the John Oliver episode about it was good and the fact that hardly any ordinary person knows anything about it is another massive and mindboggling failure of the Biden campaign and Dems.

I don’t get how Trump and Republicans can still talk and talk about The Green New Deal as a boogeyman and the Democrats have an actual fascist blueprint they can point to yet say pretty much nothing about it.

 

I don't think there's anyone who would even think of voting for Trump who would be deterred by fascism

 

luckily for Biden Michigan isn't important at all Electoral Collegely speaking.....

Whitmer saying this state is no longer winnable makes about zero sense to me from a variety of angles but a big one being that is pushing his campaign to pull money out of the state. Which has implications for state representatives down ballot and the ability of the Democrats here to hold the State House and full control of its government which has direct implications for Whitmer as Governor.
