This is obviously not real, but some of the things DeSantis actually did do the last few days

    • Signed a bill making it illegal to release balloons into the air (as ridiculous as it sounds, this is actually good for the wildlife and environment, and does have an exemption for children who release balloons)
    • Vetoed a bill that would have guaranteed that prisoners keep their lower cost in state tuition status when taking college courses behind behind.
    • Signed a bill making it legal to kill bears in self defence without having to provide proof. Which wildlife groups say is a cover to declare open season on Florida's black bear population
    • Cut arts and culture funding from next year's state budget, which is going to devastate many community arts programs who depend on those state grants.

I'm pretty sure it is with a VPN, but if any Canadians here want to chime in...

I only heard about Dr dipshit this past week from a video game YouTuber I follow. They made a video about the reason he was banned from twitch in 2020 since former twitch employees just divulged it.

Him following that up with admitting to private messaging minors inappropriately as a “joke” is wild to me. Like, that’s your excuse? You were just joking about meeting up with a minor? Sure, bro.

It's the usual excuse that the creeps on To Catch a Predator used when confronted.

I wasn't diagnosed with ADHD until last year. Kinda wonder how things might have been different if I'd known about it when I was a kid.

In elementary school there were different points where they wanted to put me both in gifted and in special ed, this confused me until I become an adult and realized I am on the spectrum lol

Since we're going down this rabbit hole, I actually was diagnosed with borderline ADD as a kid.

There was also a period of time where my sister thought I might have some kind of autism, but the therapist I was seeing at the time didn't think I showed any signs of it, so we moved on.

Does anyone know how difficult it is to get an autism diagnosis? Like I've known I was on the spectrum since I was 19 (stimming, narrow interests, sensory issues, hate eye contact, pick up on patterns easily, can spend hours looking at wiki articles for some niche obscure topic, ect. There is no doubt in my mind) but never bothered to get an official diagnosis because I always heard it was a long hard process as an adult. It'd be nice to have that piece of mind at least.

Mine was two years ago and I wonder the same thing. You can see it in my grades around 5th grade when it started kicking in fully. My grades in things like history, social sciences, and English stayed pretty consistent but in things like math and science they start their progressive decline. I also spent portions of fifth grade and sixth grade with a desk in the principals office for a few reasons but one being that I kept interrupting class talking.

My parents always thought there is no way I could have it because I would sit and read books for hours but then I also would read like three books at the same time. Typically two being non-fiction history and then a fiction book.

We have Gifted and Talented in our district and you have to take what I think amounts to an IQ test to get in I think

That’s basically what happened to me, I believe. It was some evaluation and I know that’s when I was told my IQ. I actually found the paperwork from it last year when I went sorting through my mom’s stuff. It was weird to read.

I was pulled into some gifted class like once a week during homeroom in 8th grade. I legit can't remember anything about it other than one day the teacher passed around a photo of a woman in body painted clothing and she asked us if we could see what was "off" about the photo. Super fucking weird.

I realize there are probably good reasons to have your kid do the whole gifted track but a large part of me feels like you're kinda just setting them up for failure or at least a ride awakening down the road
