My latest pickup? Don’t mind if I have an Early November…

    Okay question:

I have a fairly small collection. I need some type of stand that can hold my player, speakers and records that won't take up too much space and also won't break the bank? The Frankenstein set up I've got going on now just isn't doing it.

if you've got about 2½ feet of clearance, Target sells some reasonably priced and sturdy IKEA Kallax knockoffs. forget the name of the brand, but it's a 2x2 for like $30-ish, iirc.
try to keep it below 80 if possible. if you have a centralized air/HVAC system instead of AC, some box fans might also help.

  6. i think my best bet is to just move them downstairs where it's cooler?

    that could work too

I had the 2x2 for a while but I didn't like how low they were and I was told to not have the speakers on the same surface as the player itself?

hmm. not sure what to do about the height situation re: the shelves. for the speakers, some stands might be a reasonable option (depending on the type of speakers and your surroundings)?

I think I'm gonna finally upgrade to the edifier speakers that I've been recommended a bunch, I have a decent ish amount of space just nothing outrageous

i gotcha. Edifers are pretty good from what i can recall (my sister has them in her setup). my entire setup used to sit on a 2x2 Kallax, so i get space considerations. i'm using my surround sound setup now as my primary speakers for my turntable, so i guess i got lucky in that regard. worst-case scenario, if you can't reposition the Edifers elsewhere besides the shelf (or if it's simply not worth it to purchase speaker stands), make sure the speakers have enough clearance from the back of the wall, as much clearance as is reasonable from the turntable, and to have your lid open when playing records.

I would also see if someone might be selling something you’re looking for, like a record stand, on Facebook Marketplace . I lucked into someone selling three of their Kallax for a decent price because they didn’t have the room any more. Would be easy to see the dimension and how it looked in their space before buying.

+1 on Edifers in general. I got a pair for Christmas last year, they weren't expensive at all and they're drastically better than any other speaker I've had connected to my record player over the years, some more expensive.

I've got a pair of 20-year old Bose computer speakers that I use for mine - they were my wife's when she was in college and I took them over about 10 years ago when I got my vinyl setup - and they work great.

I got some small Edifier G2000 speakers for my setup because I don't have a ton of space and I'm also a l33t gamer. They sound surprisingly great for how small they are.

They also make a horrendously loud vrooming sound every single time you turn them on and there's no way to disable it.

John // OC now, OH forever.

I have a pair of Edifier 1280DBs and they sound fantastic for the price - I went with the DBs since they include a subwoofer out if I ever add one.

Edifier’s get a thumbs up from me too. Very good speakers.

+1 on Edifiers. Purchased the R1280T's in 2018. They sound great and i've had zero issues.

Need to pay some medical bills after a pretty bad weekend, my wife is posting some of my records here: s4r44th on eBay

and my Discogs is here if you see something on there and want to talk about potentially buying that hasn’t been posted: https://www.discogs.com/user/joseph4th

    Thanks everyone

Yeah if I had the money laying around I'd take ALL your DGD releases. I've been wanting their discography.....I was tempted to get everything when Rise had their BOGO sale but even then it was like $200 for all albums.

    One day....

But yeah awesome collection you got there, hope you find some buyers.
