SmackDown is the weaker of the two main shows IMO, but tonight's was great.

Jacob is unreal. Finally can get excited about Bloodline segments.

 

Drew is such a bad ass. McIntyre too

 

God I hope Punk can hold up for this feud but in reality he probably tore every muscle in his body just being carried

 

I’m just happy Jacob kept his name. He’s a star.

 

I'll disagree, there;s two shows in the last 2-3 years that have gained fans, but honestly neither are a great sign for what the future of wrestling portends either. For NXT, maybe thats simply that it shed enough of the "developmental" monicker with enough main roster people returning and enough call ups (thats the best case scenario, and its finally pulling what Black and Gold NXT would have without going h2h vs AEW). Or worse, maybe its that any fans that find wrestling want that glossy/high-key vibe and arent interested in overall quality.

And then Smackdown; all that would tell you is you need to spend a decade just OBLITERATING a fanbase with one guy as THE GUY until it finally clicks and also you need that to also sync up beautiful with a complete sea-change in how the show is booked AND you need a handful of beloved talent to be involved in just the right arcs and just the right venues.

Neither is really replicable for the rest of this decade, basically.

 

Okay, you can tell people all of this, but it's still up to them to actually watch the shows. I can tell my non-wrestling watching friends about everything that's been going on and how good everything's been but in the end, it's up to those people to turn in, we have no say in that.

Assuming this is still going to end with Roman/Rock… that puts 5 on the New Bloodline included Rock… so who evens up the numbers for Roman and the Usos

I mean, yeah...but, think of say Parks and Rec. You can dramatically upend the style of the show and the cast and produce something that people actually want to watch. Thats what NXT did. They stopped being "big budget indie show" and instead became what it is now. They're up 100-150k fans from where they were 2 years ago. I dont find it enjoyable at all, but, arguably it says that AEW should not sign another free agent and instead put a TON of effort into stuff like Stat/Willow and Julia Hart and like the Martin Brothers.

Its arguably what AEW did early on; as the build to Hangman was creating a new star. Much of the early TNT title stuff was Darby/Sammy/etc doing fresh things. Jade and the TBS belt. Jurassic Express and The Acclaimed in the tag divison, etc. Now a lot of the lineup is either ex-WWE guys or NJPW's hottest free agents.

 

If its for a Wargames or Survivor Series style match, no idea how they get there, but gotta assume its some combo of Cody/Randy/KO/Sami who've been the cogs in the story until now.

Just 4v4 with Rock not in the match, then I'd say 100% Sami, and the entire build is them turning Roman face via Sami trusting him again. Sort of an "Avengers:Age of Ultron" style "I created this monster, I need y'all to join me to kill it"
