Not convinced. They didn’t stop him in office, haven’t tried to build any guardrails while in power to stop him in the future, haven’t tried to stop an obviously corrupt court right now, have sat on their hands. Trump winning is immaterial of this is the opposition. Those are therefore not the stakes. Because it’s assumed the major “opposition” party is actually ok with all that happening as shown by their actions. My vote for them doesn’t act as a vote against those things, as demonstrated by them.

inmean they can’t stop a sitting president from nominating a justice. They can choose not to hold hearings if they have the majority in the senate, that’s about the extent of stopping it there. I would hope they would! But I’d also rather not have that be the situation in the first place just by keeping Repubs out of the White House

In CT at least in order for you to be eligible for assistacne in most cases you have be classified as "chronically homeless" which involves at least 3 verified stints sleeping outside for at least a certain amount of time. No one is doing that voluntarily lol

 

Saw my first cyber truck in real life yesterday. Immediately yelled out “fuck you.”

Let’s start new electoral discourse discourse.

 

I live a couple blocks from city mission and when the unhoused folks leave for the day around 7am they usually will post up on the benches on my street. Theres some electric outlets by the benches that a lot of them use for various reasons.

One of the tenants in my building was sick of them being outside on the benches all day so she zip tied close the electric outlet cover. My partner confronted her about it and she said it’s because she’s had 2 car break ins and doesn’t feel safe walking home with them on the benches.

Maybe just move to the suburbs?
