I thought the same thing. Goosebumps literally the entire time. And what a sweetheart in that interview too. She just seems like a genuine person. It's refreshing.

 

Thought she did well with the interview, she’s so funny. The deadpanned “did you not know who I was?” was hilarious lol

 

haha. best part for sure. and the clapping with her fingers. loved that.

 

The way she talks about how she struggled with finances was so real

Thought the is was worth sharing since she’s been getting some people questioning her sincerity as she’s been getting more popular. She clearly really cares about supporting drag queens, the trans community, etc.

Super late to the hype train (which upsets me because just found out she played a super small venue in Austin last year, but I digress) but wow this album is incredible. Ordered it in vinyl almost immediately.

 

It really sucks how painfully miserable people tend to be online that any artists getting big get the most insanely dumb discourse. Pretty sure some recent interviews I've read from her clearly mentions that getting into drag helped her find her lane as an artist in the last few years, especially while being dropped out of her former label or after, and come out as well.

Yeah it’s all influenced where she is now with her on stage persona and personal identity. She’s said she had never even had a relationship with a woman when she wrote Naked in Manhattan and another song (I forget which) and now she is openly identifying as a lesbian. This stuff isn’t even hard to find so the people being critical of her aren’t even trying to actually learn anything about her before saying shit.
