The Indians really had the wrong attitude for game 5. You have to go into that game bloodthirsty, and it was treated like any ordinary game. Cleveland fans should be upset about it. There were 10 errors in this series total. That seems high to me.

The amount of bandwagon fans who only watched yesterday's game and are pretending they're super into the Cubs is just... go home

I'm definitely seeing a lot of people who I grew up with, people who I know are White Sox fans or more or less ambivalent towards baseball or the Cubs, celebrating this victory. It's weird, but also, I don't know, if they want to join in, I can't be bothered enough to care about their fandom credentials. I'm too busy riding high right now.

I guess in general I don't mind bandwagoners. Everyone has to start somewhere with liking a sport or team. Maybe their interest is truly fleeting, which is a real possibility. I can see how it's annoying, for sure.

I wouldn't say I'm super into the Cubs, but I am super into seeing them finally end their curse, which from my perspective is the majority of people I'm seeing posting on the socials.

It's a feel good story and I can relate as a Lions fan. It's always great to see droughts end, especially one that's this long.

I said all series, I think the Indians absolutely GAVE this series to the Cubs due to all the errors, mistakes and walks. Game 2 they had 2 official errors, and two misplayed balls (that weren't errors) but cost them runs. Not to mention EIGHT walks. Game 6 you had Naquin and Chisenhall look like 12-year-olds out in the OF which blew the game open. Made some costly mistakes last night too. That tag-up by Bryant to break the 1-1 tie should have been a double play but a horrendous throw by Davis cost them a run. Stat Track said there were 103 instances where a ball was hit that shallow this year with a runner only 3rd. Only 8% of the time did the runner successfully score.

I'm proud of how hard the Indians played, how much they overcame, but I really do believe they gave the Cubs a lot of runs and ultimately the series. Cubs are no doubt the better team, but they didn't play like it for a lot of the series.

I actually can't stop thinking about this series, it's going to eat at me all winter (and probably for the rest of my life as 97 still does).

My wife bought me the main championship Cavs shirt and the hat the day after we won, which was good enough for me. I was more into getting all the newspapers and stuff like that. Some day, I'm going to frame it all and put a display in my basement.

Also, bought the official championship DVD and a few other magazines like that.

At least when the entire starting lineup is all Cubs in the All Star game next year, they'll probably all be worthy as opposed to the Royals lol

There was a lot of this sentiment with the Hawks started winning their Cups as well. Different since there isn't a second hockey team in Chicago, but it did draw in a lot of new fans to the sport, especially people like me who couldn't even watch Hawks homes games since they weren't televised and were completely turned off by the Hawks mismanagement (remember how it was rated the worst franchise in professional sports in SI in 2002).

This years' Cubs team is similar in that not everyone likes baseball (I mean people may watch a game or two sure, but finding people who really know the game and follow the league closely, less so), but people who were turned off from the Cubs so long from mismanagement, losing, etc, and lately the Sox in that regard, now have a chance to not only better know this great sport, but be a part of the biggest championship in American (world?) sports history.

As weak as free agents are this year, hoping for some exciting trades this offseason. And kind of looking forward to seeing exactly how disappointed Bautista will be with whatever he has to settle for. I know I'm petty lol.

To be fair, it's not his fault that the team has an aging core and that Mo and DeWitt want to play moneyball instead of spending money towards the future. This past season has been proof of that, no other team would treat Brandon Moss like he was made of gold.

I don't have anything concrete to pull off of from the top of my head, but I've never liked Matheny as a tactician with lineup construction, bullpen management, etc.

He's not the best, I admit that. Perhaps it is the team that's been carrying him this far and without those core pieces, he'll be exposed then. However, I think he's trying at least and until the team gets to 90's era bad, I don't have any real reason to hate him beyond griping at a bad call on his part here or there.

Hopefully Yadi takes the management reins at some point in the future, he's practically the manager now.

Strangely, I've found myself considerably more emotional today. I think it is all just starting to hit me. And watching all of the videos and reading the articles has really started to get to me. I've cried like 5 times already.

I'm so incredibly grateful for this feeling.
