I feel like emails I can't send is the only album from hers I count which Google tells me is her first album for that label and not on Hollywood so that tracks lol

I really was convinced she wasn't for me, but Please Please Please has legitimately floored me. It's got that quality where it feels instantly familiar yet unlike anything I've ever heard. I thought Espresso was a good time, but this one has completely changed my perception of her.

 

Feels like her first "grown up" album for lack of a better term and, given her recent setlists, I imagine it'll be as deep as she reaches back setlist-wise when she tours next.

 

I feel like her and Chappell Roan have a very similar trajectory in that they’ve apparently been around for years without much musical success (obviously Carptenter was way more successful than Roan in general, but you know what I mean) and within the last few months have just completely blown up and seem inescapable now

“Please Please Please” definitely feels like it was written for Kacey Musgraves. But also the intro/synth makes it feel like a late-era Strokes song. And that little guitar riff right in the middle of it is 100% “Another Brick In the Wall” lol

I'm not fully on board here yet.... but I am now at "will listen to the album" stage instead of "no interest" phase.....

 

Listening to these Live Lounge versions, I'd be down for a Sabrina country album. She has the range for it.
