Yeah, I'm assuming the counsel learned their lesson that taking in older kids is a bad idea and this could be one of the reasons why

In episode 1, didn’t Jecki kind of imply that Osha was old to start training at 8? Or am I making this up?

An inconsequential shift as the continents drift.

the episode wasn't amazing but the entirety of Mando s3 and Boba Fett are very significantly worse lmao

I believe we're about 116 years ahead of meeting Anakin. So, could be.

I'm here for any and all content that show the Jedi as hypocritical, so this was fun for me. "We've come to your planet because we believe you're illegally training children, which we would never do, but also you must submit your children to be tested to see if we can train them."

They mention something about the Jedi having doubts about admitting Osha into the Jedi due to her age in the first episode. They made an exception for her. It's one brief line, but they do acknowledge it.

I'll write you into all of my songs Supporter

There's no coincidence that the song they sing during the Ascension ritual seems to reference the rule of two right

Just speaking for myself. Sick to death of him.

edit: which is fitting. I want him dead in the discourse but he keeps coming back. He refuses to die haha

I mean this show is gonna be about everything and everyone that led to the eventual rise of Palpatine a few generations later. So while he won't be in this, I still would expect some references to what eventually became his successful plan.

This isn't the Palpatine show directly, but it very much going to be about Palpatine. He is basically the culmination of what the plot of this show is building to. I kind of assumed that was obvious from the moment this show was announced.

...I'd be very open minded to the Darth Plagueis book being adapted into a tv show, with an apprentice Sheev.

If I call him Sheev, Greg doesn't have to hear about Palpatine. Everyone wins.

Lol I seriously have never got the child actors thing. Ya they're kids. Have you ever seen kids? It's hilarious how people are out here worst episode evering over child actors. Y'all are too much.

It's okay to step away form Star Wars as a whole if it doesn't do anything for you anymore. Andor will be back next year and you can jump in there. There's no reason to continue watching things you know you're gonna hate.

I was super hardcore into The Walking Dead for the first 3 or 4 seasons but eventually it just lost me. I didn't go online and yell about how it fell off and it ruined the comics for me, I simply stopped watching and interacting with it.

Not sure why it's so difficult for people to do with Star Wars. Probably because it's been a part of their life for the entirety of it but sometimes it's best to just rip the bandaid off rather than just be annoyed by everything it puts out

It wasn't "the worst episode ever", and people online are exaggerating how bad it is for engagement/clicks, but come on those child actors were really bad.. It's not their fault, when child actors are that bad to where if effects the quality of a show/episode it is the fault of the director, showrunner, and casting.

alrighty, here are my thoughts on depictions of religion in this episode, informed by my academic/grad school background. i will say i'm less of a theoretical scholar and don't have as much knowledge on print Star Wars media, so i might get a couple things wrong here, but it was fun to dive into the weeds of this episode from a sociological perspective. i'm attaching them as a PDF because i ended up writing around 1,600 words and didn't want to bog down the page with all of them (lest folks respond with a "i ain't reading all that", lol).

Yeah I don't mind the kids being bad actors. They're just kids. My annoyance is with the screenplay and creative decisions.

Has anyone made a Waco comparison take about this episode yet? Thinking about it I feel like that is kind of what Headland is getting at.

also to address an earlier comment, i don't think everyone here is "hating" on Star Wars or this show. some people liked the episode, some didn't, some were in-between (like myself). doesn't mean we're spending our time bitching and moaning about how the franchise is dead or that it somehow ruined Star Wars (you'll find plenty of that on Reddit, Twitter, and YouTube). healthy critiques are absolutely ok, and i think that's what we're all trying to do here. for what it's worth, i'm generally liking the show overall, just felt like this episode could've been handled a bit better.
