Yeah, this will be fun but I don't quite like the incorporation of my contacts.

 

Oh cool, I just starting paying for ChatGPT so plugging it in is nice.

 

I normally just do iOS/iPadOS betas but I think I'm going across the board. There's enough there that I want them running now.

honestly the most exciting update for me really was the password manager lmao. 1Password has been kinda terrible for me for a while and it'll save me a couple of bucks a month which will be nice

 

Odd to have all four of my devices upgrading at the same time lol

 

iOS 18 beta is pretty boring so far without any of the Siri/AI features. Everything seems to be working at least, so far, on my iPhone 12 Mini.

 

My watch and my phone have been completely bugging out today. My ultra has just been draining and I’m getting no notifications or anything. And my phone is just being weird not loading texts and app icons randomly disappear

 

Agreed. I’m going to need to go through the preview pages and actually find what is new.

 

The dark/tinted icons are quite ugly.

 

They really need a toggle to reset Control Center. Mine is all sorts of fucked now.

This has just started happening this evening and it’s annoying as hell.

When I get a text, the Lock Screen notification and the drop down banner appear like normal but they just say “Messages notification” with the person’s contact photo (if I have one set for them) or just the letter of their name instead of actually saying who the text is from. Googling it is just giving me results of names not showing up on contacts at all and it just displaying phone numbers, which is not what’s happening.

Anybody else had this?

 

Any advice here? My Apple Watch Ultra won’t get notifications or calls or texts. But I used the Shazam app on it and it works so it’s connected some how. But I can’t even unpair it, when I try it says cannot connect to Apple Watch, make sure it is nearby and not in airplane mode. And it’s right next to me and not in airplane mode.

This just happened to me today when my wife texted me earlier. Didn't think anything of it as it happened once and just assumed something bugged out.

 

Elon’s a crank and he has beef with Apple, but I actually think he’s raised some valid concerns about their partnership with OpenAI. I’m not going to feel comfortable having this stuff on my phone until Apple gives us a lot more information about what data is being accessed and where it’s going, and I wouldn’t feel comfortable with anyone in my highly IP-sensitive company using it either

so if you just use it on an Apple device and don't connect your ChatGPT account you have really nothing to worry about

 

All this while annoying the creepy spyware that is an Google-fied Android phone from the very first boot.
