I'm broke too, but both of these were such a big part of my teen years so I've gotta shell out for them. Used to drive all over to see them.

my sister has that setup. she enjoys it, and it sounds pretty good from what i remember. my dad has the same table but different, older speakers and he says it sounds great. i got my original AT-LP120 bundle from TurntableLab (with a set of white Kanto YU4 speakers). they're a great vendor to go with. just make sure to be there to sign for it when it's delivered because mine required a signature.

Agreed, the best album for this genre of music, and The Hush Sound perfected it with Goodbye Blues…

Question for you all - what's the most 'expensive' vinyl in your collection? Looks like I could sell these 2 from my collection for quite a decent amount.

I’ve been trying to log into Discogs all day to answer that very question and… no dice

Jesus, I can’t believe someone sold that Butch album for $750. Did not know that was so rare. Lends credence to my “The early Butch Walker albums would sell if someone could get them onto vinyl” theory.

The fact that they managed to get the M3 records onto wax gives me the slightest bit of hope that Letters could happen.

Keep in mind that's $AUD, so probably close to ~$500 USD. Still a ridiculous amount.

I got that vinyl for $12 on Black Friday from his webstore back in 2014.

I think in one of your chats with him he confirmed the masters weren't lost in the fire (if i'm remembering correctly). I'd assume the rights are still owned by Sony, but the 20th anniversary is coming up in August so fingers crossed.

I got it with the album pre-order back in 2008. $12 is a steal.

Here's what he said on the matter:

    Takeaways:
    1) The masters are still out there. I know he said once that every master of every song he'd ever recorded was lost in the fire, but, like, that wouldn't make any sense! He never owned the masters of that album. Sony owned them. So, they should still be in a warehouse somewhere or something. Probably the same with Left of Self-Centered. Rise and Fall, I'm less sure of.
    2) Dude was taking shots at the Taylor's Version concept years and years ago. Lol.
    3) I don't think he ever expected to get the M3 albums back, because he HATED Elektra more than any other label he ever worked with. But that happened, so who knows!

I think the price had been slashed and then it was like a 30 percent off the entire store thing for Black Friday. Amazing deal. Those kinds of things happened back in my early days of vinyl collecting. Prices were lower and stuff hung around in stock for longer. I found a bunch of stuff for prices I'd never dream of finding it now.
